Oh I know the "real world". I know all about the racist pigs like you and your hero dukes. Neither of you are worth the shyte on the sole of my shoes. Neither of you have 2 working brain cells to rub together.
This thread has descended into madness. Consequently, I feel it's my duty to post on it. I would like to make several points:
1. Hitler's invasion of the Soviet Union was the greatest mistake of WWII.
2. Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor was the second greatest mistake of the war.
3. Germany's declaration of war against the United States was the third greatest mistake of the war.
4. The most callous action of the war from a purely military standpoint was the British decision to throw away Canadian lives at Dieppe for nothing.
5. The failure of the Imperial Japanese Navy to effectively utilize their submarine force was another mistake.
6. The competition between the Imperial Japanese Navy and Army over aircraft production was another.
7. The German failure to invade Britain permitted that country's use as a staging ground for American forces.
8. The failure of the Germans to build heavy long range bombers permitted the Soviets to save their industrial base by moving it east of the Urals.
9. Both the Americans and the Japanese made the mistake of using wood as the substructure for their aircraft carriers.
10. The greatest betrayal of the war was the British refusal to support the Americans at the Battle of Midway despite the request for the participation of one of the British carriers stationed at Madagascar at the old French naval base. The British didn't have enough faith in the Americans.

With Hitler opening up a second front against the Soviets when he did was definitely the deal breaker for the Germans. If he had waited until he had England and consolidated his hold on Europe he then could have turned more attention towards the Soviets and very well could have created a different out come for the war.
One other "error" Hitler made, and some may think it was small but I feel it was a big one, was to have the ME262 converted into a light bomber instead of leaving it as a fighter and mass producing it. I believe the ME262 could have turned the air war if it had been utilized properly.
There is a big difference between making statements on an online forum and being paid to work for a corporate owned news chain with a particular political bent and agenda. The media is not free, whether in print on TV or on the radio. First they are subject to the political leanings of the ownership and second, they cannot print anything that will upset their advertisers. How do I know this - I worked for several newspapers and magazines. Most of what you read is either pablum or complete fabrication. What gets headlines is trivia because, gawd forbid "we have a well informed public capable of critical thought. It is against the owners best interests."

I don't think the allies ever thought about what Hitler was doing to the Jews. It wasn't until after the war that it became a big deal. After the ship of fools incident, I think the allies secretly supported his efforts in that regard. I really think the allies deserve a good portion of the blame for the holocaust.
A lots of spies of USSR worked for USA in WW2. After USSR, China began export spies to western world, mostly are beauties.
