Multiculturalism actually imposes a certain obligation on the individual to also become multicultural.

For example, in a bilingual city like Montreal, how do you even find employment without knowing both English and French?

In a diverse city like Toronto, how do you function in the workplace without having some familiarity with universal cultural values?

I say a person living in a multicultural society is expected to learn more than in a unilcultural environment.

Um. . . in the case of Mexicans, America migrated to them. Alto California was settled long before John Smith sailed to Virginia, or Champlain to Canada.

Probably the oldest eminent family (of Europeans) in what is now the U.S. is the Alvarezes.
Did you not know we here in Lala land suffer with that everyday . Valdes Island ,Juan de Fuca straight et/al .
