Well, let's see.

Some of the claims in the documents are simply untrue, such as the claim Canadian troopers were killed by US fire, when in fact (confirmed to family by friends present at the time) they were killed by enemy fire.

There has been accusations that the Taliban is scanning the documents, searching for evidence leading them to NATO informants. IF this is so, those releasing these documents need to be stopped, BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. They are acting as pawns of the enemy, just as if they were carrying AKs into the field.

Wonder how this story will be turned around by Wikileaks and other so called reliable sources?

And some small minded people wonder why the Taliban must be destroyed. This medical organization was in Afghanistan for years bringing free medical programs into areas that have been without anything for generations.

NIhil was the reincarnation of someone who'd been shown the door several
times, but just doesn't seem bright enough to figure out that they're just not
wanted here. He/she/it is gone again....at this point.

I hope it gets the point, as it's visits have grown tiresome. Really, take the
hint.

I have no problem with people who attack the message, but not the messenger. Name calling is a form of attacking the messenger. Its not only juvenile, its also forum rules.

I am well aware why the US attacked Afghanistan. My point was that unless the Taliban attacked the US, was about to attack the US or was creating a large scale humanitarian catastrophe, its against the UN charter to start a war. Obviously if a country is as powerful as the US, they can ignore the UN charter, but that does not make their actions legal.

I've asked for Goober to provide proof that the Taliban were involved in the events of 9/11 or supported 9/11 at the time it happened. I was able to find these news stories from American sources:

I realize this was a long time ago, and many things have changed since. But the Taliban are on record as condemning the 9/11 attacks.

Hurry up and leave Afghanistan, your mission has been accomplished.

KABUL, Afghanistan – Taliban militants stoned a young couple to death for adultery after they ran away from their families in northern Afghanistan, officials said Monday.
The Taliban-ordered killing comes at a time when international rights groups have raised worries that attempts to negotiate with the Taliban to bring peace to Afghanistan could mean a step backward for human rights in the country. When the Islamist extremists ruled Afghanistan, women were not allowed to leave their houses without a male guardian, and public killings for violations of their harsh interpretation of the Quran were common.

I will agree that other than harboring, supplying, training and giving sanctuary to al quida there was no reason al all to invade Afghanistan.
