Well, the text on the Trump photo (which is a cropped version of the original) is a little misleading. Yes he was awarded the Ellis Island award in 1986, along with about 80 others, but I believe he was awarded for his work as a developer as well as his German Heritage, a deserving award. But the later crop and accompanying text was interesting in that it was meant to suggest Trump couldn't possibly be racist because he won this award, along with and for the same reasons as, these prominent African American figures. Yes, they all won the award, but they did so for different reasons. The uncropped photo also includes Anita Bryant, Victor Borge and Joe DiMaggio, but I suppose that version lessens the ability to manipulate people into thinking that the photo represents something else.
