A typically shrewd Ford move to wait until Tesla's market cap got up to $70 plus billion.

One of he beauties of the EV is that it will actually charge at night and then run your house during the day.
During what would be brown or blackouts in the summer when all the little city dwellers need their AC cranked up in order to survive the EV sector will provide power back into the grid to prevent over load
How do you propose to have your car tun the house during the day when you need the car to go to work? Got a really long extension cord?
If the car was to charge at night and run the house during the day you obviously don't need the car.

the trouble for manufacturers is that they don't know exactly how long they can keep selling ice engines.
That is a problem when we have clowns in Ottawa and Washington that are making rules that are expensive and often counterproductive. Based on economic reality and without government picking winners and losers ICE are good for at least another 50 years. Note that they wouldn't necessarily have to run on gasoline or diesel either.

I wonder if Suma tried to offer a wage reduction before the announced cancellation?
And what happened to them? Why weren't they competitive then? And now?
Same problem. Batteries. And extension cords keep tangling during rush hr. Too bad really because electric drive is much better than transmissions. Diesel-electric works well but is not really fuel efficient. Perhaps with a different method of generating electricity. Fuel cell? Fission?

It pales in comparison to what the BC Liberals did to our economy.
You mean fix some of the damage done by the dippers in the 90's? Next year we will have them back to fix the damage Horgan has done to the economy. That will probably take another ten years. Unfortunately Horgan has already done so much damage to the forest industry in two short years it may never fully recover.

Shock: Elon Musk’s Grandfather Was Head Of Canada’s Technocracy Movement

This is a must-read story. TN has identified Elon Musk as a Technocrat on the basis of beliefs and actions. What we did not know is that his Canadian grandfather, Joshua Haldeman, was an avid supporter of Technocracy, served as Research Director and ultimately became the the head of the Technocracy, Inc. party in Canada.

For full details on modern Technocracy, the reader is advised to read Technocracy Rising: The Trojan Horse of Global Transformation by Patrick Wood.

“In contrast to the devious ways of politics, the fumbling methods of finance and business . . . we have the methods of science and technology,” the movement’s manifesto declared. “Modern common sense is now calling upon physical science and technology to extend the frontiers of their domain.”

The historian William E Akin identified three wellsprings for budding technocrats: a growing fashion for centralised planning among progressive reformers; the popular mythology of the engineer as the saviour of American society; and the scientific management theories of Frederick W Taylor.

If you has bought yourself Tesla stock 6 month ago you would have doubled your money.
It's gone up less then the difference in QE and repo dollars since January...
;)
In other words, it's a losing proposition.
