SO it looks like the OPP is about as accurate as the one predicting an ice free Arctic ocean by 2013.
Best I can tell Tesla is so far behind they should just cancel 2017 orders and concentrate on 2019.

By the time they can mass produce these Cars everyone will be unemployed, replaced by AI.

I think that just because a car does not burn fossil fuels does not make it green. My understanding is the batteries made take more energy to make than the fossil fuels they save.

I suspect you are right, but so does a liter of gasoline. And clean energy can be used to supply electricity to electric cars - it doesn't have to come from coal and oil.

Part of Ford's genius was paying his workers enough to buy his product.

Electric cars do have a larger footprint than gas but when they are powered by clean energy sources their total emissions are far far lower than even the best gas engines.

The dirtier than gas myth is based on electric cars using coal burning power - which is true - and is an reason not to build or use coal not a reason not to use electric cars.

I'd like one before I retire.
What do you drive now and what was your favorite ride. Batteries can be made quicker than cars and a lot of cars would just have to be abandoned.
Retro fit the current vehicles to have an internal combustion engine that is exhaust pollution free. The device has been fine tuned for the most part and the real bottleneck has been getting enough amps in DC form to some stainless steel plates. The gas that is produced will run a gas style engine from a lawn mower to a high performance car.

It's difficult to take your word for it and quite frankly, this potential would have been widely advertised by the EV lobby had it been confirmed. Considering that coal fired power generation plants are being legislated out of existence, one would expect that this fact would be front and center.

That said, you're basically asking that folks believe your statement based solely on your individual belief

Great if you commute but why not CNG powered micro cars like Tata sells in India? $5000, wicked mileage and emissions and freedom of on demand fill up on the road or at home overnight refills that work out to $0.13 per litre with your own CNG compressor.

What is wrong with this generation saying 'no' and keeping them running till the coal is just about exhausted. The only reason they are being shut down is in support of curbing global warming farce. As long as the grandkids know they have to make the change they can probably get it done better using all the nifty robots we left them. Spending billions on needless things is what is raising taxes including wars that only serve the interests of the one at the top of the food chain. Poor can't be that bad or so many people would be in that group.

With a lower operating (fuel) cost and super low capital cost, the gubmint will collect far less in taxes
What the Government needs to collect are a lot of pink slips. Then watch the push for bigger and better social programs by nobody than the ones screaming about cutting costs.
Get a debate going between the Feds and the Provincial Government over which one should represent the country. The loser better have some hobbies in mind as there won't be any jobs waiting for them.

More like we have forgotten that we are the majority and the ones in Government are hired hands and nothing more. As valuable as chaff after the threshing is done. Change to referendum voting using your Revenue Canada account and bribing the 'elected' would end right then and there. Good reason why it will never be implemented.

As long as the hired-hands have the power and no fear of recall, there is absolutely nothing that the public can do until the next election.

That said, all of the entitlement idiots and immediate gratification losers are so easily led by the nose, this pattern of useless gvt will persist

Are there any plans to use the asphalt available at Cold Lake or Ft Mac in this design? Why not use capacitors as they charge almost instantly?

Ultrafast Charging High Capacity Asphalt-Lithium Metal Batteries.

George Carlin put it something like. There is the rich, the middle class and the poor. The middle class does the work the rich don't want to do and the poor are there to remind the middle class what will happen to them if they don't do the work requested by the rich.
It is a system that has only one future, it crashes. That can be engineered but them and it is unlikely the next system will be an improvement for the poor.
