This fiasco and the one in Edmonton recently are really situations you can't do a hell of a lot about, without restricting the freedoms of everybody. The mayhem may be reduced slightly if everyone does the necessary preparations to reduce the opportunities enabled by such things as time and location by being vigilant and ready to duck on a second's notice.

I already know the joke I just made up that will be going around after this incident.

But I'm not going to say it. I have a heart for the victims and their families. Although a younger version of me probably would have posted it.

59 souls died last night among them were 2 Canadian citizens. 527 were injured - 4 Canadians are still in hospital in unknown condition.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the dead and wounded.

If only we could just Legislate away insanity...

I haven't seen or heard any of the footage from Las Vegas. I refuse to bear witness to any of it...trying to keep my mind clean and positive. Not interested in scarring my brain over this tragedy.

I've been watching some of the coverage, HH. My main interest now is finding out why the gunman did this. However, from what I've heard he was squeaky clean - not so much as a parking ticket or traffic violation. He was a gun nut but that doesn't mean a darn thing down there. Maybe they will dig something up going through his devices or when the girlfriend gets back and is questioned.

I really feel for his brother who is almost beside himself trying to understand why this happened while under a constant barrage from media.
