So since my last post I went and bought a few 1 oz bars of silver.

I went with silver because at 38 bucks an ounce it's affordable. Ironically, they have since gone up to 40 bucks an oz so I made a few bucks I guess.

I could not afford around 2800 bucks for an oz of gold. ;)

I have started looking at precious metals in coins though.

If your not in to earn but just want something pretty, go for it. Scrap is where the money is though.

There is plenty of pretty scrap silver too.

CanadaPost and the mint sell at spot price with free shipping.

Silver maples (silver coins) are an excellent investment.
I couldn't find silver bars on the Canada post site but if I get into coins then I will start buying from there too. Thanks for the tip.

Also, the RCMint doesn't seem to have 1 oz bars a lot either.

So I have started to get the 1 oz bars from my bank. I order them and they get shipped to the bank for free where I pick them up.

I took the last of my pennies when they stopped making them and buried them in the yard

I made a map and told my nieces when they were about 5 that when they turn 18 they can use the map to find them.

Every time they see me they ask if they can see the map.

Not yet!

There were aluminium and steel pennies in the last years.

They are worth a penny.

The 2 Indian heads can go from $3 to $161
