All that should be there by the time a person is 20, if that is the same skill set in use at 40 or 60 then you are a failed experiment for all intensive purposes. Japan under the Sho-gun was an example of total submission and it didn't work out any better than an occassiona successful revolt from the bottom up.
My parents loved me, worked hard to provide for the family, and I never went hungry. They did use corporal punishment but none of this time-out, locked in a room shjt.
I know you would like to believe that because it is indeed appalling that our tots go hungry but they do. How do you get food to them? How could they not go hungry...they are too tiny to shop and cook. I know a teaching assistant who buys juice packs and granola bars for a few little guys and loads them up before they leave for the weekend otherwise who knows if they get food. I live in a rich area Walter and honestly Children and Family Services are actively involved in all of our schools. All. We use the social worker a few times a week when things are bad. There are processes that have to be followed...legal this, legal that. I'm not saying that is wrong it just makes it hard to help the little ones. And their behaviour means that they are frequently hard to be around. They act out continually, it's all they know.
Too many hours alone at work, pushing a desk should come with the same restriction as long haul driving, after a certain limit you become your own worst enemy.

In my world it was called 'the Tracks', 2nd most dangerous area was 'the Hill'. Back alley were the only 'safe route' because the street crowd never came in any further than the sidewalks. 'Poof' was one kids nickname as he would would just seem to show up and I was pretty watchful myself. Probably a good thing the town was 'contained'.
All that dancing you are doing is taking oxygen away from your brain. Two questions, 1 is where did I mention I was flopping around. The part you are objecting to is something you should be agreeing to as it is saying not every person that can drive a car can drive a big truck on the open road.
that's part of what I find interesting... the neighbourhoods that these kids live in do not contain anything like an alley...in fact they contain smaller homes built during the war, the kind of home I actually grew up in that was, back then, an "average" home for blue collar, middle management white collar. They aren't "bad" neighourhoods...they aren't middle class but to me they are okey dokey...if you were out walking at night you certainly would not avoid them.
that's correct JLM...Canada's food guide is now outdated. What was once a healthy snack has become a sugar-ladened poison...they are going to be changing how much "juice" should be consumed as it is now full of sugar and additives and contains little nutrient.
for sure there are worse choices you could be drinking such as pop...but it's not the best either as that is almost the amount of sugar you should be ingesting for your full day and it's only 8 ounces of juice
