-1 Walter fukk off with your red's and green's..

See if for one month you can actually respond to a thread with your opinion, rather than a silly "Post Rating."

The only way in Canada for child to go hungry is for the parents/guardians to keep the child imprisoned in the home out of the eye of the public.

Is that what your parents did to you?? Keep you locked up in a cage in their basement??

yes they are charming too...but not all do drugs...we have a lot who just have zero life skills and zero parenting skills and likely have learning disabilities that couldn't be corrected because their parents didn't get it and they get it "a bit"
All that should be there by the time a person is 20, if that is the same skill set in use at 40 or 60 then you are a failed experiment for all intensive purposes. Japan under the Sho-gun was an example of total submission and it didn't work out any better than an occassiona successful revolt from the bottom up.

If that is our skill-set and we are in a society that is 1,000 years old then how successful is that and at what point is it acknowledged that some things in the past should remain in the past as they were a mistake.

My parents loved me, worked hard to provide for the family, and I never went hungry. They did use corporal punishment but none of this time-out, locked in a room shjt.

I know you would like to believe that because it is indeed appalling that our tots go hungry but they do. How do you get food to them? How could they not go hungry...they are too tiny to shop and cook. I know a teaching assistant who buys juice packs and granola bars for a few little guys and loads them up before they leave for the weekend otherwise who knows if they get food. I live in a rich area Walter and honestly Children and Family Services are actively involved in all of our schools. All. We use the social worker a few times a week when things are bad. There are processes that have to be followed...legal this, legal that. I'm not saying that is wrong it just makes it hard to help the little ones. And their behaviour means that they are frequently hard to be around. They act out continually, it's all they know.

I don't get hurt feeling... personally I could care less what some religious zealot feels about the way I think, or what I believe.. your green or red won't make a difference..

Also, I was not complaining about your Red, I was complaining that you are like a child in the candy store with both the Red's and GREEN's.

I mean for fukk sakes grow a pair and quit being a frigging 7 year old kid..

Tired of logging in with 20 new post ratings.

Too many hours alone at work, pushing a desk should come with the same restriction as long haul driving, after a certain limit you become your own worst enemy.
Have you eve heard of the 'Peter Principle'? It basically says every person has a station in society where he is operating at 'expert level'. If they get raised to a position above that level they start making mistakes. You would see it as somebody who is an expert cab driver in a city might be a liability to himself when the road ahead is a straight line for the next 4 hours and you might see one other vehicle. More money but the chances of killing yourself are also higher.

except things do improve...slowly, but they do.

when a child has been raised in a dirty environment where they are malnourished and receive little love they don't have life skill sets necessary to survive well in a middle class environment...not that long ago in fact in my generation, there was poverty too but there were more working class and the gap between poor, blue collar and lower white collar was not such a massive gap. Times have changed...the gap is now huge but we also have more resources...it's just getting those resources to the right ones.

also we need to ensure those resources don't dwindle or we pay for it down the road through crime, and violence...we pay one way or another...

In my world it was called 'the Tracks', 2nd most dangerous area was 'the Hill'. Back alley were the only 'safe route' because the street crowd never came in any further than the sidewalks. 'Poof' was one kids nickname as he would would just seem to show up and I was pretty watchful myself. Probably a good thing the town was 'contained'.

Well we can all be as groovy as you flopping around on the floor.
All that dancing you are doing is taking oxygen away from your brain. Two questions, 1 is where did I mention I was flopping around. The part you are objecting to is something you should be agreeing to as it is saying not every person that can drive a car can drive a big truck on the open road.
Did you and Walter catch the same illness, he thinks his dog loves him when the dog actually only wags his tail sometimes. Only somebody in deep denial would mistake fear for 'cautious love' the times the wag meter is at 'zero'.

How mentally stable are you if a green or red can affect what you post?

Back at ya Walnut.

The Walter and Boomer Comedy Hour, this should be good. First fight will be over who gets top billing.

Only reason kids go hungry in Canada is because their parents are crack heads.

That's one for sure but I don't think it's the only one. Some are alcoholic and some are mentally f**ked up, others have large families and the pay cheque isn't enough to make ends meet. Some are at the mercy of greedy landlords.

In 13 years she never sought to improve her job skills. That is why she is still getting a low wage.

Where there's a will there's a way- Any reason why the kids couldn't spend a few hours a week picking up cans and bottles?

Just saw on the T.V. recently that juices packs are detrimental - very little nutrition and loaded with sugar. Packs of raisins are a better choice.

that's part of what I find interesting... the neighbourhoods that these kids live in do not contain anything like an alley...in fact they contain smaller homes built during the war, the kind of home I actually grew up in that was, back then, an "average" home for blue collar, middle management white collar. They aren't "bad" neighourhoods...they aren't middle class but to me they are okey dokey...if you were out walking at night you certainly would not avoid them.

that's correct JLM...Canada's food guide is now outdated. What was once a healthy snack has become a sugar-ladened poison...they are going to be changing how much "juice" should be consumed as it is now full of sugar and additives and contains little nutrient.

But then when you look at what is considered healthy food to give to an elderly person who no longer can eat (Boost and Ensure) (main ingredient is about fifty different sugars) we should be ashamed of ourselves. The food that people think is okey dokey to ingest is despicable and disease producing.

Yep food manufacturers want to make the optimum amount of money using the cheapest ingredients. They are criminals who should be charged with attempted murder.

I like the ocean spray cranberry/pomogranite juice meself.

I love cranberry juice, but it's taboo for me being on blood thinners.

for sure there are worse choices you could be drinking such as pop...but it's not the best either as that is almost the amount of sugar you should be ingesting for your full day and it's only 8 ounces of juice

I see Walter doesn't like some facts! :)

I suspect we're witnessing the difference between someone who is religious, versus a religious zealot.

Holy Judean Sea, Batman!
