Colpy, I can tell you have never met Svend in person. Anyone who has actually had a conversation with him knows that he is very capable and rational. One of the reasons why he was re-elected so many times is that he was very accessible, he listened to the input of his constituents and was our advocate, even when he didn't agree. This is what MPs are supposed to do, and very few do. He is also not the type to vote a certain way just because the party says so. He is a man of conscience, and he always understood his responsibility to the people that elected him.You are judging him on some of the controversial issues he has championed (some of which I strongly disagreed with) and his mental health. I see the bigger picture. He has done so much good for the people in this riding, and he would be re-elected if he ran again here. Give him a break. I hope you never find yourself in a similar situation. Mental illness can strike any one of us. I think a little compassion and understanding is in order. The voters in that riding will decide. It doesn't really matter what people outside the riding think. That is how it works.
