Yup they sure pulled the wool over Canada's eyes eh .

No, I don't think so. I think most Canadians knew the party took a turn to be more socially conservative. There hasn't been anything done by the Conservative party since Diefenbaker to give creedence to the idea that they are fiscal conservatives.

Looks likely that they will again next election also .

As long as Justin is leader, the Liberals don't stand a chance. The Dippers never will. I just wish the Conservative Party supporters started acting like fiscal conservatives and expected their boys to be financially responsible.

With only 1000 being under the age of 55. Great business model I must say. Focus on a dying demographic. Is it any wonder the social conservatives believe Harper is doing a great job? Their lack of understanding when it comes to economic issues is rather telling.

Do you have a link for that assertion? You have made it several times but yet to backed it up from what I have seen.

And before you get your shorts in a knot, I did not ever watch Sun TV. I hardly watch any TV news at all.

One reason it failed is because most Canadian news sources are included in the "Basic" television package that most cable and satelite providers ... see Express-Vu basic line-up
The Good programming package from Bell TV
But they wouldn't put Sun News into their basic package so it was only available to those who paid extra for the news package.

And those people who paid extra for the news package were 40% of Canadian homes with TVs. That's millions of people, but Sun could only get a regular audience in the low 5 digits. Where Sun was not included in cable packages was where cable providers didn't want to pay for it. Sun didn't fail because it wasn't forced into Canadian homes. It failed because it was total crap and no one wanted to watch it. Millions of Canadians had the opportunity to watch it and didn't, because it was garbage. It had access to the market, but it couldn't get an audience, and so it couldn't get revenue and it just got worse. Sorry, in the free marketplace of ideas Sun's product wasn't selling.

That's capitalism, comrade. Live by the sword.

How about a link for that statement or am I supposed to take your word for it?

then try addressing the following post....

And not being on the basic cable line-up they could not secure advertising .
The Canadian government did not even provide any . And we see GoC advertising in all main stream media .

You could take my word for it. You can count me as a trusted source of information.

Or you could look up the reasons why Sun News failed yourself. Do you get all your information from Sun News and internet forums? Funny, you don't know anything about Sun News' failure, you haven't bothered to read anything about it and yet you have a strong opinion. Try doing that and if you still can't, I'll give you the link.

Which assertion are you referring to?

Perhaps, just perhaps, it was the one in the post I quoted.

CBC Newsworld does not have to prove viewership because it has been placed on basic cable. I think what should happen is all specialty channels should be removed from basic cable and basic cable should just be the American networks. People can add the CBC Newswords and the Woman's Networks, etc. if they choose. Not that Sun TV was any good but it was never fighting on a level playing field with its competitors.

Northern Ontario,
I watched all the news channels, I have preferences on the different channels and yes, I even watch CBC news on 502 "the Market Place" and "The National" and they all have their particular bias...
It's interesting that people here hated Sun News that never even watched it, maybe just because they didn't like Levant or some other pundit. He wasn't on 24 hours a day....I didn't particularly like his over-repeating his points even when I felt he was right about something...
Just like some people repeat the same memes all the time...

There was more than one. If you're referring to the comment about 1000 people under the age 55 watching Sun News, it was in reference to the wiki link that was provided right before that post. You should try and follow along rather than expect others to rehash old posts for you.

You're welcome.

Stop being so silly. Not only does nobody here "hate" Sun News, (hating a TV channel is social conservative thing with the CBC), I'm certain everybody that has commented negatively in regards to Sun has seen it. While I'm not surprised you have to make stuff up to argue your point, I am surprised that you think anybody would be fooled. Then again, you are Sun and Faux fan so I really shouldn't expect much from you.

It would actually be funny if it wasn't so pathetic.
