This most unprepared-for-the-office, petulant little punk wishes he had one ninth of the wisdom any (yes, even the liberal tit sucking ones) justices possess.

Migritory birds have set paths from generation to generation. So that reason is shot down. it might not be enough as a whole but it could help suppliment and be enough for certain areas. Again excuse is shot down.
There is not one idea that will cover the whole need of the U.S. better to look into mulitiple solutions.

Your right, migratory birds have had set flyway paths for generations and those paths are usually the perfect place to install windmills. The birds try to fly the easiest way for them, ride the winds and air currents. Little solar, little wind, little tidal lots of hydro and nuclear. Most importantly it to build a more efficient power grid, we still are using 1900 technology.

Not a bad idea.

"One project mentioned is the $3.4-million construction of a 13-foot tunnel near Tallahassee, Fla., that will allow turtles and other wildlife to safely cross U.S. Highway 27.
...The report said the area "has the highest road-kill mortality rate for turtles in the world." But it also suggests other uses for the money, and mentions Florida State University's plans to lay off 200 faculty and staff members in hopes of saving millions of dollars.
Officials at the Florida Department of Transportation defended the project as one that not only would save turtles but also protect motorists. "A lot of these turtles are quite large. They get hit by a car, and they turn into flying objects," said Josh Boan, the department's natural resources manager.
Construction on the tunnel is to begin in September. State officials could not estimate how many jobs would be created."
This is unbelievable. Highest road-kill mortality rate for turtles in the world? Who keeps these statistics?
Now let's see, a 13 foot crossing that costs $3.4 million. That is over $261,000 per foot of tunnel. I have my shovel ready to do the work, just send me the stimulus check and I'll gladly get cracking on this.
By the way: I have the greatest respect for turtles, of course, but who exactly is going to teach them to use the tunnel? I know, we will then need an ACORN turtle training program and for those who do not follow the law-- a 24/7 turtle traffic cop!
Just chalk it up as another job "saved or created" by the stimulus, and all while protecting turtles, to boot. A bargain at any price, don't you agree?

I heard an interview saying that here in Quebec the money they put in to making Hydro electricity could easily be put for each house using geothermal turbines and it would be cheaper. Each house a power source and part of the grid , not dependant of the grid. That would never fly as big companies need dependants to gouge on them. It's not only 1900 technology but 1900 mentality. Certain areas in our life style are going to have to be more socialist bent imo.

Does Quebec have geothermal activity close to the surface that can be utilized, I personally would not like drilling down to find it. (watched to many science fiction) :)

Beyond what I heard there was not much details as it wasn't the main subject. I have no idea.

Speaking of the Scott Brown victory in Massachusetts here is a link to a powerful campaign ad he ran in that state. I've never seen a campaign ad quite like this one. The link: YouTube - Massachusetts Miracle. Some in California are talking about something similar in the next Senatorial campaign when Barbara Boxer is up for re-election.

This wasn't a Scott Brown Campaign ad. It was a Youtube creation.

Seems there are places in Canada that could profit from it. Just found this.
B.C. is sitting on a potential gold mine of clean energy in the form of superheated water located deep beneath the Earth's surface, says a researcher at the University of B.C.

Where I live, the Arrow Lakes, is called the Valley of the Hot Springs. We have geothermal activity up the Yin Yang. I have been advocating for years but the government can't think of anything but damming up all our rivers and creeks. Talk about 1900's mentality.

Politicians have no vision beyond their re-election. We need to all get up off our asses and be more proactive.

Obama is the shepherd I did not want.
He leadeth me beside the still factories.
He restoreth my faith in the Republican party.
He guideth me in the path of unemployment for his party's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the bread line,
I shall fear no hunger, for his bailouts are with me.
He has anointed my income with taxes,
My expenses runneth over.
Surely, poverty and hard living will follow me all the days of my life,
And I will live in a mortgaged home forever.
I am glad I am American,
I am glad that I am free.
But I wish I was a dog .....
And Obama was a tree.
