Living in SWO I've been dodging them most of my life. Hope my luck continues to hold out.

This is like 25 maybe 35 minutes NE from where I am.

I don't think there's been any hail, but I don't know for sure.

I know the skies have quite literally opened up and it's just poured at least 3 or 4 times since Friday evening.

These storms just move so quickly, one hits, it clears up and then next thing you know another one hits.

*knocks on wood*

Thankfully the past few storms have passed us by. Tonight, it looked like we were going to get a doozy of a storm, but it went right on by. We got a little bit of rain, but not very much.

Northern Ontario,
I remember the destruction in Barrie. Mother Nature has her way of making man puny.

What about those spot twisters a few years ago in Sudbury, Northbay and in between....I was in Dutrisac park that time and there was damage to trailers from falling trees all over around me.
I call them spot twisters because I was lucky...I just had to clean a few branches on my trailer, My portable barbecue wasn't even knocked of the picnick table and my expressVu dish wasn't even knocked down.
But I also had rolled up my awning just before it hit.

In the bush near Sudbury
I lived in Verner then ... and was watching as eight fifty-foot tall spruce trees that lined the church drive all dove east, rebounded, then snapped north in unison. There were barns a mile away from their foundations and one silo on the CPR a couple of miles from its twin. Environment Canada called it a downburst - which is just a sideways tornado....

There is one reported fatality :( and they are saying it was either a higher end of an F2 or a lower end of an F3 (I think they go to an F5) but I'm not sure of the windspeeds involved.

Scary. I can remember the storms that produced the Woodstock tornado when I was a kid.

Glad to hear you are ok. Have been thing about you since I read you first post.
Yes I am, thanks.

The first thing I did when I heard about it was check to see if the warning was still in effect and it wasn't.

Those poor people in Goderich. They played some video on the news. It's so frightening, just the awesome destructive power of nature.

Thankfully, it appears that only one person has lost their life. While I wish that no one had died, the fact that the devastation was so huge I had thought that more people would have perished.:(

The destruction was horrendous, it really is fortunate there was not greater loss of life. Maybe because it hit mostly downtown on a Sunday afternoon?

It's sad to see the pictures. I've not been there since I was a child but I do remember it was such a pretty little town.
