Multiculturalism doesn’t work
You can’t have two competing cultures in the same country

Last Wednesday, a British soldier named Lee Rigby was walking down the street in London, wearing a Help for Heroes T-shirt. That’s a charity for wounded soldiers.
Two Muslim men driving by rammed him with their car.
Then they jumped out, shouted “Allah Akhbar,” and hacked him to death with a meat cleaver and a knife. They tried to cut his head off.
In broad daylight, on a busy street.
Bystanders took out their cellphone cameras to record it.
The murderers didn’t run or hide. One wanted to go on the record, in perfect English, with his explanation. He didn’t even bother to put down his cleaver or wipe the blood off his hands.
Here’s what he said:
“The only reason we have killed this man today is because Muslims are dying daily by British soldiers. And this British soldier is one. It is an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth. By Allah, we swear by the almighty Allah we will never stop fighting you until you leave us alone.
“So what if we want to live by the Shariah in Muslim lands? Why does that mean you must follow us and chase us and call us extremists and kill us? Rather you lot are extreme. You are the ones that when you drop a bomb you think it hits one person? Or rather your bomb wipes out a whole family? This is the reality.
“By Allah if I saw your mother today with a buggy I would help her up the stairs. This is my nature. But we are forced by the Koran, in Sura At-Tawba, through many ayah in the Qur’an, we must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth.
“I apologize that women had to witness this today but in our lands women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your governments, they don’t care about you. You think David Cameron is going to get caught in the street when we start busting our guns? You think politicians are going to die? No, it’s going to be the average guy, like you and your children. So get rid of them.
“Tell them to bring our troops back so all can live in peace. So leave our lands and we can all live in peace. That’s all I have to say. (In Arabic
Allah’s peace and blessings be upon you.”
That’s, Michael Adebolajo, a British-born citizen of Nigerian descent. He used to be Christian, but converted to Islam.
He says that’s why he killed. He used words like Allah, Muslim, Islam, Qur’an and Shariah nine times in two minutes. He’s not making other excuses for his actions. He was on an Islamic mission.
He says it’s a war between British soldiers and Muslim soldiers — and he considers himself to be the latter.
Which is notable, given that he was born in Britain.
He’s no soldier.
He’s a terrorist.
He fails the Geneva Convention definition of a soldier. Soldiers don’t hack people to death in a London street.
But the laws of war are a construction of western civilization. This man follows the laws of Allah.
He cited a chapter of the Qur’an, called at-Tawba. It says, “slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush.”
In case you’re wondering who the “idolators” are, it’s you. It continues: “Fight them, Allah will punish them by your hands and bring them to disgrace.”
Multiculturalism doesn’t work. You cannot have two competing cultures in the same country.
Questions like: What law do you follow? How do you solve conflicts? Are there any limits on religion in the public square?
Those are western ideas, like the separation of church and state.
There is no separation between mosque and state in the Qur’an; there is no separation between civilian and military in the Qur’an.
This is war.
Take it from the man with the meat cleaver, standing in the street.
