Utter drivel about the US system.

What is utter drivel? That the country pays a higher amount for health care, by far, than anywhere else on the planet, or that this gets them a middle of the pack rating for health outcomes?

I used to be quite critical of the system too, but not anymore. I've had a couple of medical emergencies in the past three years spending a total of about 27 days in two hospitals and undergoing numerous procedures, my problems were quickly identified and resolved and today with some prescriptions I am in very close to perfect health. Everything that could possibly be done to ensure my successful and long term recovery was done and periodic testing is done like clock work. For this coverage including my wife I pay $130.50 per month (what some couples could easily spent on a night out at the bar) For what we're getting I'd gladly pay $50 a month more, but that's O.K. the Sally Ann or the War Amps can use the money. I used to think we'd be better off with private insurance but not anymore- with B.C. medical most things are covered.

JLM I'm not saying that the US doesn't have quality health care. I'm saying that it's grossly inefficient. It pays 30%-50% more per person for health care but is only middle of the pack when measuring health care outcomes. For example, the US pays 17.7% of GDP for health care. Norway pays 9%. Switzerland, Germany, Denmark and Canada pay about 11%

I was defending the Canadian (B.C.) system.

No, she's has an HMO plan. Their death panel is assessing how much care they will continue to fund for a sick little old lady.

Money talks.
Palin warned of the death panels and all the lefties said she was wrong.

What Palin didn't mention is that the private health insurers are the ones with the death panels, assessing if they will continue to fund treatment to "liabilities", i.e. sick people.

Here's some info for you.
Forbes Welcome

Tell that to my old, sick mother in law. All the cheesy propaganda in the world will not change the fact that her healthcare is total shyte compared to what the average Canadian gets and she isn't getting some welfare "entitlement" version, either. The average schmo in the U.S. gets screwed by their insurers.

Go ahead, red -. Perhaps you should walk the walk instead of listening to the second raters trying to get the GOP ticket.
