If Obamacare is so great, why have the politicians exempted themselves from it? I find that rather strange, don't cha' think??

As we have discussed previously, Obamacare is for those who don't already have insurance.

Locutus,

THIS IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, YOU GOVERNMENT PIGS. GET OUT! I mean, leave your wallet on the table, ’cause I’m gonna need you to pay for this, but then GET OUT, JERK.

That's what the Tea Bagging wingnuts say until a disaster strikes like Katrina or the oil disaster.

Maryland Announces Obamacare Enrollment Total: 326 People…

Crap-tastic numbers like this is why the White House is refusing to release the total number who enrolled through the federal exchange.

Via WSJ:
The state of Maryland says it has thousands of people interested in buying health insurance on its new state-run exchange, but only 326 so far have actually enrolled in new coverage.

That number is one of the few trickling out about enrollment in the new health-insurance exchanges created by the 2010 Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. The federal government, which is operating exchanges on behalf of 36 states, hasn’t given enrollment numbers yet for its HealthCare.gov exchange, which, as The Wall Street Journal reported today, has been plagued by design and software problems.

Maryland is one of 14 states running its own exchange. With a Democratic governor and Democratic-dominated legislature, the state’s commitment to making the law work was never in doubt, but it ran into considerable technology problems early on.

On Monday, the state said it is still working through technical issues and conceded that MarylandHealthConnection.gov “may be inconsistent, especially during periods of peak usage.”

Those problems are reflected in the Maryland numbers released Monday, the first of what the state said would be regular data releases. The state said 13,532 accounts with verified identity were created as of Sunday evening, and it has seen 170,000 unique visitors to the website. But only 326 people were actually enrolled in new health-insurance plans.

Uninsured Find More Success via Health Exchanges Run by States

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/10/09/u...-via-health-exchanges-run-by-states.html?_r=0

The experience described by Ms. Skrebes is in stark contrast to reports of widespread technical problems that have hampered enrollment in the online health insurance marketplace run by the federal government since it opened on Oct. 1. While many people have been frustrated in their efforts to obtain coverage through the federal exchange, which is used by more than 30 states, consumers have had more success signing up for health insurance through many of the state-run exchanges, federal and state officials and outside experts say.

"government actuaries"

Where's the actual report?

Doesn't it seem just a bit strange that the Obama administration would come up with a report that invalidates its own claims?

Credibility: ZERO

There's one burning question about socialized healthcare......................Does it actually cost us less and if so who makes up the difference?

I wonder how many good doctors there are who would settle for cash "under the table" just for the sake of being able to get rid of a few bureaucrats. Bet it would save a bundle!

We can afford to pay for Israel's health care coverage every year. But we sure as hell cannot afford another 45,000 dead per year in a Republican created holocaust that has killed over a million people in the past 20+ years.
You have also been paying for healthcare for Iraqi's and Afghanis as well. don't Americans deserve as much?

And where did you get that info from?

It appears the States have set the rules regarding background checks etcetera so if there is a failure, they will be the ones who screwed up..........

Grants for Obamacare 'navigators' made in hostile territory

The administration has announced grants totaling $67 million to 105 groups, organizations that will be hiring "navigators" for
Obamacare in the 34 states in which the federal government is setting up health insurance exchanges.

And, of course, there's more. In at least 19 of these Republican states, where the grants are going, lawmakers have seen another opportunity for sabotage. They don't think people should have help getting affordable health insurance and they also apparently think the would-be navigators shouldn't have jobs. They've enacted restrictions and extra requirements for navigator training and licensing and to make the job as difficult as possible by restricting what the navigators can tell the people they're helping.

What's the status of navigator requirements in states with federally facilitated exchanges?

To date, at least 19 states with federally facilitated exchanges have enacted, or are currently considering, legislation that imposes state-specific requirements on navigators. Of these, 14—Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Montana, Nebraska, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Wisconsin—have already passed such legislation. An additional five states—Illinois, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania—are currently considering pending legislation or have sent such legislation to the governor to be signed.

Most of the bills require a navigator to obtain state licensure or approval before operating in the state. Many also establish training requirements, require criminal background checks, and authorize disciplinary measures against navigators. Some bills also subject navigators to existing insurance law (such as privacy and unfair trade practices standards) or require navigators to secure financial protection against wrongdoing.

Will State Laws Hinder Federal Marketplaces Outreach - The Commonwealth Fund

Some Republican members of Congress are refusing to help constituents get information about health insurance through the Affordable Care Act, even though that's what they and their staffs get paid to do. Question is...is it an ethics violation?

Does Refusing To Help Constituents With Obamacare Cross An Ethical Line? | TPMDC

None of that is true. :)

I'm not surprised Senator Cruz doesn't like Obamacare. Being as he's Canadian, he'd probably rather see a single-payer system.

It wasn't necessary to harm me in order to seek universal health coverage. It wasn't necessary to seek a statist solution to problems in the health insurance system. People who harm my family should have their families hurt as well.

So, sources are credible only when you give them the thumbs-up, eh?

The White House has taught you well

Still waiting for proof ....

You have also been paying for healthcare for Iraqi's and Afghanis as well. don't Americans deserve as much?

And we paid for Europe's coverage via the Marshall Plan and Fortune 500 corporate medical costs via allowances on corporate 1120 tax forms.

The largest budget item of all 50 states is Medicare and Medicaid.

Not surprising, Walter, that is a fairly large item. Did you know that after family, your health is your most important asset. (And third is your credit rating) -:)

Obamacare Glitch, Good Not VERY!

Glitch #9001 – crappy grammar? How ….good not

Oh and...

DEMOCRATS TO AMERICA: WE OWN THE GOVERNMENT!

In the current fight over the government shutdown, Republicans are simply representing the views of the American people.

Americans didn't ask for Obamacare, they don't want it, but now their insurance premiums are going through the roof, their doctors aren't accepting it, and their employers are moving them into part-time work -- or firing them -- to avoid the law's mandates.

Contrary to Obama's promises, it turns out: You can't keep your doctor, you can't keep your insurance -- you can't even keep your job. In other words, it's a typical government program, but this one wrecks your health care.

Also, the president did raise taxes on the middle class in defiance of his well-worn campaign promise not to. Indeed, Obamacare is the largest tax hike in U.S. history.

Among the other changes effected by this law are:
