‘Sharknado 2′ gets ready to take a bite out of Big Apple

The Syfy network has confirmed that Sharknado 2 is on the way and this time the action will take place in New York City.
“Every once in a while, there is a perfect storm – on television. The fans are clamouring for a sequel. Or perhaps it will be a prequel. What we can guarantee is that Sharknado 2 will be lots of fun,” Thomas Vitale, Syfy VP, tells Variety.
The SyFy channel disaster film starred former Beverly Hills, 90210 star Ian Ziering and Tara Reid as a pair of unlikely heroes who end up saving Santa Monica from a series of shark-filled tornadoes.
The first Sharknado took Twitter by storm before it aired last week, with stars like Olivia Wilde and 30 Rock’s Judah Friedlander tweeting about it.
“If Ian Zeiring (sic) is not in a shark movie. It’s not a good shark movie,” Friedlander tweeted.
Reid, whose career – let’s face it – peaked with American Pie, told TMZ she was game for a sequel. “This movie was so ridiculous, you know? Like it’s almost so bad that it’s good.”
Syfy is also giving Sharknado fans the opportunity to give the sequel a subtitle by submitting their ideas at @SyfyMovies using the hashtag #Sharknado.
The first film came with the tagline: “Enough said.”

Hmmm, what to see, what to see. Sharknado 2 or Star Wars Episode 7: The Retirement Years.

Shark filled tornadoes? You gotta be kidding.............I would have to work real hard at suspending reality to swallow that one......but hey......to each their own.

The Retirement Years..........good one SLM.

lol Looks like it could be a comical movie. Sort of like in the fashion of that goofy movie where a buncha prehistoric piranhas went hunting humans. Or giant, "nukular" tarantulas go hunting humans. Gotta love B movies sometimes.

That was on TV the other night. I feel sorry for the people that are so poor they had to act(if you can call it that) in it. It Made the Final Destination series almost viewable.

So you won't be watching the sequel then?
the sequel.?...fack I couldn't watch it for longer than ten minutes, root canal would be more entertaining, it was bad, the dialogue, the acting, they were yapping about sharks and I was trying to figure out where the water was, then a big storm blows in and they all run and hide behind a thin tin door, OMG then it dawned on me, shark are in the air or some stupid thing... I'd rather watch paint dry

That has to be a violation of the human rights code to broadcast that when the temperature is like this! I'd take water boarding over that!8O

If you saw the movie you might change your mind. I saw about the last 10 minutes. A fake fire on TV plays to a higher IQ level than sharky.

Well there's a bad movie, then there is a movie so bad it's actually funny, but then there is a movie so really, horribly bad that it's just embarrassing to watch it. I take it sharky falls into the third category, lol.

I'm sad I missed it! My son is the BEST to watch cheesy movies with. Titles like 'Metal Tornado', and '2012: Ice Age', have had the whole family in stitches.
