Speaking of forest fires, we are living in a cloud of smoke again from forest fires to the north-west of us. Sometimes it's so dense as to make my throat raw. I'm sure it's not good for my health. I think we should ban forest fires.

There are laws against arson and starting forest fires already. So you agree then that we should ban starting fires that are harmful to human health without just cause?

Agreed.

It may in fact be far more efficient to eliminate the over sensitives rather than focusing on the fragrant impaired who's odiferousnesses while unbecoming to some small fringe subgroup of malcontented sniffers does in fact impact positively on the many businesses and products dedicated to odor gentrification over a wide range of afordability.

Yeah, I suppose it's kind of comparable to my taking a piss in the Pacific Ocean.

A closer equivalent to pissing in the ocean would be smoking in a park away from everyone. A better ocean analogy to walking behind a smoker would be swimming at the foot of a cliff with someone pissing down from atop it.

Ridiculous ain't it with 1000 vehicles a minute belching smoke? Hope you are out there with your sign protesting! P.S. I no longer smoke but can still appreciate the hypocrisy! -:)

Meh. There's a whole pile of difference between wood smoke and tobacco smoke, but either way particulates do not belong in lungs. And adding tobacco smoke to the smoke that may already be around doesn't help regardless of the amount and any sarcasm. It's stupid and intrusive the same way someone sneezing or coughing over your coffee, lunch, or beer would be.

Transportation is not always a luxury; smoking is. Looking at it that way, the one might be unavoidable, the other is. That said, I also agree with higher resource taxes just as I support banning oppose smoking.

banning smoking from parks and playgrounds.

The air inside your house is approx 5 times more toxic than the air out side of your house.
