The very first thing I do is try to get my hands on as much coffee as I can before they take it off the shelves and throw it into the incinerator.

Next, I try not to panic, because I'm sure that some poster here will lead the underground coffee black market to which I'm sure to have a connection.

I also remain calm by remembering that some poster here will surely lead a revolution against our oppressors. And all I have to do is wait for the call to fill my role in liberating the bean.

Cheers! Here's to coffee!

Coffee is Banned in your scenario, but not caffeine, right? Can I
shoot caffeine straight into my blood stream somehow?

lol, actually you did find a pretty good loophole...

I wonder how a shot of caffeine strait to the blood would feel?

I think I'd rather down a bunch of energy drinks instead, at least for my afternoon coffee time...

Why waste it? You get the rush I guess but without any taste at all. I'll go straight for the diet coke (or pepsi). Or - like Karrie - sometimes there is nothing like a nice hot cup of tea.

I'd grow my own. Until we got ripe beans, we'd use the few pounds we have in the freezer. :)

Why in the world would coffee be banned? I think the first order would be to find the kooks who brought this to Parliament and have them ousted for the halfwit trouble makers they are.

Then after lunch a nice espresso at the Hotbox with some tasty B.C. bubble Hash.

Quite so, Ron. There are many drinks which have caffeine, besides coffee. There is tea of course, it contain caffeine (though not as much as coffee). Hot chocolate contains even more caffeine that coffee. Then there are drinks such as Coke or Pepsi; they contain caffeine (that is why you can also get the decaffeinated varieties). So there are plenty of ways one could get a caffeine buzz, even if coffee is banned. I remember when I first moved to Salt Lake City, I was surprised to find that Mormons forbid coffee and tea. Although I couldn’t figure out why, they are OK with hot chocolate, which contains even more caffeine than coffee.
