A FG? I suppose that makes the score look better for the coach.

At least McCallum came through on that one.

Oh look a bright spot...........Maze grabs an interception.

Hey, we just might get a TD here. Barring penalties, interceptions, fumbles and sacks.

The good news is there were 8 sacks on the night - lots of food for the Purolator Food Drive. The bad news is they were all by Ottawa.

Uh, make that 9 sacks by Ottawa.............but they were called offside so surely we can get over the goal line now..........surely.

I would love to know what Brett is thinking of all this as he watches Tino being sacked three times in a row.

I was referring to the coach. Too quick reading.

Oops, my bad. No, I don't think that, IRBS. I think he is just out of his depth and has run out of ideas. There is absolutely no sense in firing him now. We have to stick with CC all the way to the end whether it be bitter or joyful. I do hope that we see Brett back as pivot next game - there are reasons why Tino is below him in the QB pecking order and a couple of them were painfully obvious out there today.

By not switching back, he has created himself quite the QB fiasco for the next game.

Que surprise........really didn't see this coming............thought we might limp through the rest of the season with these guys but the brass had other ideas. Trouble is hiring a coach during the season is an entirely different matter than doing so in the off-season. Hopefully we will go with someone for the interim and take our time after the season is over to find a good fit for the team. Listening to a sports commentator on TSN this morning who opined that the Riders should bring Eric back as GM...........that outa stir up a lot of chatter.

JEREMY O’DAY NAMED INTERIM VP, FOOTBALL OPS & GENERAL MANAGER BOB DYCE NAMED INTERIM HEAD COACH

*

The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced today they have relieved VP, football operations & general manager Brendan Taman, and head coach Corey Chamblin of their duties with the Football Club.

“We are not meeting our expectations or our standards on the field and these changes were necessary to move us forward,” stated Riders President & CEO Craig Reynolds.

“Brendan and Corey worked tirelessly for this organization and I thank them for all that they have done for our team,” continued Reynolds. “But we are in a results oriented business and the current position of our team is unacceptable and this decision was necessary for us to build this team towards sustained success.” **

Brendan Taman was officially named general manager in January, 2010 after spending the previous season as director of football administration. Taman was handed full autonomy on personnel decisions following the 2011 season in which the Riders finished out of the CFL playoffs with a 5-13 record. *

Corey Chamblin became the franchise's 44th head coach when he was hired in December 2011 and will now depart with a 29-34 regular season record, 2-2 playoff record, and one Grey Cup through his three and a half seasons at the helm.*****

After finishing the 2012 season at 8-10, the Riders reached a franchise best 8-1 record to open 2013. The team went on to finish second in the West Division with an 11-7 record and hosted a home playoff game for the first time since 2010. After defeating the B.C. Lions in the Western Semi-Final, the Riders took out the Stampeders 35-13 in Calgary. The Riders then defeated the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 45-23 in the Grey Cup; winning the franchises fourth championship. *

Chamblin was named Canadian Football League Coach of the Year for the 2013 season.

Last season, the team’s hot starts continued as the Riders raced out to an 8-2 record for just the fifth time in franchise history. However, the team stumbled the rest of the way, winning just two of its final eight games before losing the Western Semi-Final.

Heavy on the interim for both Jeremy and Bob. In the off season the Rider org can dig deep and go after Eric Tillman - GM and Marc Trestman - HC. Oh and Brett will be back as pivot against the Bombers. Yeah.

Hoovers dear, the Hoovers.

Oops..........Hoovers it is. Looking forward to seeing what the new guys can do, rockman. I watched the interview on Riderville website when I got home from work today and was glad to hear that Brett will be back. I would love to be a fly on the wall of the Rider locker room to hear what the team thinks of all this - I sure hope they can rally around Bob and finally get us a win.

Unless they can heal like Jesus the team remains a team of third stringers with minimal game experience.

We've got some healthy vets left and some good newbies that, given the chance, could come through for us, rockman. Never say never, I say. I predict a victorious day for Riders.

Some but still have 16 on the injured list.

If they can't beat the Hoovers with a broken Willy, there is no hope.

As of 40 minutes ago Tino Sunstarei was sent packing.
