According to my sources, this "war" is the direct result of the Russians trying to control the vodka trade. Vodka pipelines are aflame at the moment... my precious vodka.

I am sorry that you (those who are in the west, and does not know what is happening here) powder brains.

Alas, but none of you is not that draws the attention of georgia attacked the civilian population, including the peacekeepers from Russia.

None of you have not seen killed by refugees from South Ossetia, where Georgian troops have killed, none of you have not heard that talk of war refugees themselves.

All have forgotten that Georgia attacked first, and received the same response.

And you only listen to what you want to impose.

I had achieved their goal, and learned that wanted to hear. To hear from you that you say your TV.

At posledok want to say that at this forum, there are those people who are aware of the truth which is now happening. But their little. And you only gray mass, which is controlled through the mass broadcasting.

I am sorry you.

At posledok want to leave a message for Russians, if they read. Unfortunately Russian vastness of the English language, and not all the words translated;)

This should be an education to you, Risus, and all the other folks out there that foam at the mouth at the mention of the USA.

This is how real imperialist powers treat their neighbours.

Meanwhile, we stick our thumbs in the American eye with impunity.....

See the difference?

You no doubt remember my previous posts which fully documented how Reagan's imperialist meddling in Guatemala resulted in the deaths of over 300,000 Ixil Indians. While you are correct in condemning Russia for its invasion of Georgia, you neglected (so far as I recall) to do the same for its invasion of Chechnya and you failed to condemn Reagan's imperialism.

By contrast, I have taken a consistant position in my condemnation of Reagan, Bush, and Putin. If we are to have a world of peace we must take a consistant position in our outlook and how we judge political abuses.

300,000 is an exaggeration, although I will not deny that Reagan's actions is South and Central America were inexcusible.

I did, and do despise Russian behaviour in Chechnya

Here is an interesting view of the conflict and more along the lines of what Stradivar is trying to tell us:

The importance and timing of this military operation must be carefully analyzed. It has far-reaching implications.
Georgia is an outpost of US and NATO forces, on the immediate border of the Russian Federation and within proximity of the Middle East Central Asian war theater. South Ossetia is also at the crossroads of strategic oil and gas pipeline routes.

Georgia does not act militarily without the assent of Washington. The Georgian head of State is a US proxy and Georgia is a de facto US protectorate. Who is behind this military agenda? What interests are being served? What is the purpose of the military operation.
There is evidence that the attacks were carefully coordinated by the US military and NATO.

Contrary to what was conveyed by Western media reports, the attacks were anticipated by Moscow. The attacks were timed to coincide with the opening of the Olympics, largely with a view to avoiding frontpage media coverage of the Georgian military operation.
On August 7, Russian forces were in an advanced state readiness. The counterattack was swiftly carried out.

Was it an act of provocation? It sure looked like it:
A humanitarian disaster rather than a military victory was an integral part of the scenario. The objective was to destroy the provincial capital, while also inflicting a significant loss of human life.

The war on Southern Ossetia was not meant to be won, leading to the restoration of Georgian sovereignty over South Ossetia. It was intended to destabilize the region while also triggering a US-NATO confrontation with Russia.

You have to read the article to get the full picture. I've only picked out a few enticing tidbits to get you to read and respond to the article.

If true, who would have thought of this kind of turn of events? What's the matter with US/NATO to poke Russia? Do they really want to risk an all out war?
