Another thing to consider is the amount of military hardware spending.

I don't think that the American People would agree to such huge spending on the military and with huge cuts to social programs without the fears of Putin holding a nuclear weapon button.

The same kind of propaganda took place during my childhood with the "Red Scare".

2 years ago, Oliver Stone produced a documentary "The Putin Interviews". Both YouTube and Vimeo have removed this documentary from their website.

It is the Red Scare which is going to permit huge media censorship in all NATO countries. As the American economy continues to crumble and dissent increases on the streets, America needs to control the propaganda available to its citizens.

Thankyou for your contribution to this conversation.

You're very welcome.

Maybe you could set aside a few hours this evening and provide a couple of full sentences or maybe even parragraphs discussing your doubts about that post of mine.

No need. Anybody interested can Google him. Thanks for the laugh though. Seriously!

Actually Hoid is correct. There is even a word for it - sinocentrism. It was the belief that nothing of importance existed outside of China. As a result, after a few voyages of exploration the Chinese emperor forbade any further voyages and China turned inward, failing to recognize the danger of the more technologically advanced Europeans until it was too late. That said, I suspect that a good deal of the perceived threat from China is simply hype put forward by the US military-industrial complex to promote further military spending in the US.
The China situation is complex and the answer goes back to the 1970s when Nixon established relations with China. At that time China and the USSR were arguing over who had the correct form of communism and were involved in a dispute over territory along the Amur River. China found it useful to have the US as a friend rather than an enemy and the Americans were happy to have the USSR worried about its far eastern border.

No China has not emulated the west, the west is already history except for the nasty stuff coming right up against the wall.

The Russia China cooperation has already crushed the western nightmare of Globalization

The size of any nations GDP does not automatically denote success or failure, it,s what you do with what you have, efficiency is not a western skill.

And you do not appear to involve yourself with evidence by repeating this unfounded insane British accusation. It in of itself is a clear indication of western rot in the highest offices.

Sorry DB, but none of those answers make any sense; especially the last one.

Crimea voted 90 per cent for Russian rule, and that sea is called the South China sea for a very sound geographical reason.

Maybe England should claim the whole of the English Channel and stop the French claiming any of it.

I've always wondered why we in the "West" have always treated China better than Russia.

Because China has f-ck all for an air force and navy.

Besides that China is completely fenced in by US bases and tend to not start shit since they don't have a hope in Hell of finishing.

Believe it or not, the Chinese are in the midst of a massive naval building program and they are well on their way to having the biggest Navy in the world. It is also a modern one. Three decades ago, the Soviet Krasniflot was the largest but a lot of it rotted away in recent years. I don't know much about their air Force but the PLA Navy is a serious deal. It appears that the Chinese wish to project their power around the world.

India should lay claim to the entire Indian Ocean and the Irish should tell the British to get out of their Irish Sea.
