When I get hired, of course. I never said it will be easy. It won't but I still want a good career and all that. is it a crime for me to want that despite the adversity I am bound to face? Are you trying to discourage a developmentally disabled person from success? oh no, I guess a legally disabled person wanting to work and such is a crime.... I may even need certain accommodations in the work place too, not sure but possibly, I know some do. For now I already said I applied for help with finding a job, gosh.

I know very little about Asberger's and the obstacles it creates but I wish you well in your future endeavours as I am sure there is a place for you, you will find to your liking. Meanwhile just put a little more thought into the rights of the fetus.

no, the Ontario Disability Support Program. Same program that provides me my money $1,098 / month. Shelter and basic needs. Glad to be able to live independently.

What's different between the SK version and the ON one other than $500 more given to disabled in SK?

$1400 plus another $500 in the housing suppliment. How much is your rent in ON?? Alberta and SK have plenty of jobs even for disabled. Could you run a Tim Horton like the guy with Downs at my local Tims. He doesn't need a penny from anyone.

So tell me why you have the same services available to someone with Downs but deserve to exist?

I never said they don't deserve to exist. I'm pro-choice, no matter the reason why.

He's right while there are people with downs that do thrive, many have just part-time jobs and have benifits, etc.

Did another Mellencampfan write this or was it you? Do you still feel Dawkins is right? You are in the same boat as someone with Downs but the only thing separating you from them is simply your attitude towards them.

I forgot that, no they deserve to exist. I disagree with dawkins on that. But I keep my pro-choice stance still. I'm an NDP member after all and a volunteer.

IMO, you will be one of those that uses their "disability" as a reason to NOT work. You will continue to do what you are doing here tonight. Coming up with excuses.

Give him the benefit of the doubt, Gerry- he's 20 years old and his attitude may change.

Give me a valid reason that isn't vanity based for a woman to choose abortion.

Life is in danger? Rape?

I'd forgotten about this little goody. I see Downs syndrome people are denigrated by you because they have "JUST" part time jobs and get benefits.

Now, didn't you just finish posting that you DON'T work and get over a grand a month in "benefits"?

So, tell me, who is the better contributor to society, you or the Downs syndrome person that actually works?

Who said all of them work and that most didn't for a while. You seem to have a very black and white world view.

Life in danger isn't vanity. Abortion because of rape is vanity when the child can be give up for adoption.

I've made it pretty clear that I applied for job help, didn't I? I don't know what Gerry is going on about. I guess with people like him, anything that is counter to his false ideas, wasn't actually said.

Besides it wasn't denigrating, just stating realistic facts. I never said I'm not glad they do, or that they should do better, etc. Way to twist my words for your own sick needs.
