Analysis and/or treatment of total dissolved solids are not specific to dealing with chlorides.

Apparently your 'career' in water treatment stalled before it even started.

PS - Love the comment about bottled water and how it is magically not (safe) bottled water when drunk in a location with lots of shallow (or deep) natural gas deposits.

Are you suggesting chlorides are not part of the total dissolved solids or that distillation or RO doesn't remove chlorides effectively?

There's nothing "magic" about bottled water though you may view it that way. The term "magic" is often applied when one has a lack of understanding

They would get a kick out of you.

Do you know what briny water is?

You'd be testing for chlorides if that were the case, but seeing how you are on AISH and have no participation in the water treatment area, I'll stick to not taking your sage advice.

m'kay?

Apparently it is if you drink it in Rosebud... Your 'buddy' told you so, remember?

... And the question still remains.. Why?

I know what you mean by "briny" water. It's not a commonly used term in water treatment. Brackish water is far more common and refers to high TDS water. Since chlorides are fairly easy to treat and only appear at troublesome levels in brackish water, we'll leave the term "briny" to the amateurs.

They love talking to people that think they know something but don't. That also the reason my buddy at Wheatland thought Petros was quite the hoot.

There are no nitrates? Is that a unique thing for AB like no radon even though the levels are dangerous levels of BQ/m3 at 287 in Rosebud tests?

imagine... a 30+ post thread deflection... cause someone felt an overwhelming need to derail the thread by bringing up radon. If only there were moderators on this board willing to reign in the purposeful thread disruptors. Go figure.

Maybe you should include a test for variable electromagnetic frequencies in your, ah, water treatment program.... You know, to go along with the TDS measure and all

You should call Alberta Environment and suggest they add that to the list.

You should check this out.

http://environment.gov.ab.ca/info/library/8555.pdf

Section 1.10.3.2 sets out the minimum requirements for testing. We are required to do a, b and c annually and d every 5 years on our well systems.

Too funny. You must realize that it's virtually impossible for Pete to admit that the idiotic comment about radon had nothing to do with the article. Once he was made to look foolish, the rest was inevitable. It shant be long now and he'll start calling me putz.

If only there were moderators on this board willing to reign in the purposeful thread disruptors.

There was one that seemed up to the challenge but it became quite apparent that it was his/her friends that were doing most of the derailing so the determination seems to have waned.

Poor you. People just can't SEE that your notions are the ONLY RIGHT THING!

You don't do EC testing at you one man show that does one man watermain repair in February?

I'm flattered that you think I'm capable of repairing a water main on my own. I'm good, just not that good but thank you anyway.

BTW...is this more goal post moving on your part or just trying to derail the thread even more?
