This is too funny. I was actually at the rally and everyone was having a ball. So when that particular chant went up, everyone started laughing. The mainstream media is SOOOOO gullible it's amazing how stupid they are. As for Mr. Alexander, he tried to change the chant to "vote her out" and in no way encouraged or participated in it. He was smiling because everyone else thought it was a hoot!! Apparently the NDP is easily "offended" but they can "offend" everyone who participated in that Rally. The hypocrisy is unbelievable but expected.

As for the hand-out about immigrants, I don't think the organizers or anyone even knew what they were all about. My brother and I were given one as we were leaving and neither one of us read it; I didn't until I got home and simply tore it up. While I agree that our immigrant policies leave a little to be desired, I am NOT against immigration as was stated in this flyer. I was actually quite appalled by what it contained.

But typical of the NDP and their ilk; of COURSE everyone who attended was an EXTREMIST right-winged idiot which is par for the course. People have lost their jobs and, apparently, when you object to government rules and regulations that might actually prevent jobs from returning, you suddenly become a right-wing extremist.

Wonder what they call the eco-extremists who think nothing of destroying things and rioting? Oh, right - they're being "reasonable" and "righteous" but not extremist. I keep forgetting!!

BTW, that was the most fun I've had in a long time; last time I was at a rally was when Klein was going to close down the Grey Nuns hospital so it was much more serious but we succeeded in keeping it open. After all, it "only" served in excess of 100,000 people at the time!!

JMO

How refreshing to read the perspective of someone who attended the rally and wasn't a member of the MSM. Thank you Dixie Cup. I figured it was mostly a bunch of 'sound and fury' from the media, glad to have my thoughts on this validated.

Also glad to hear you had a good time.

Yes I'm sure you are quite happy with the party that has destroyed Alberta's economy and hired thousands of government employees for no good reason other than increasing party membership.Working people however need a party that represents their interests. And that is simply something no NDP government has ever done.

Didn't you read my post? I thought I made it clear that I was opposed to the party that has so badly mismanaged the Alberta economy. Oh, wait? Is it possible you did not realize that it was the PCs?

Yes, that Klein. Doctors and nurses per capita were at or surpassing the national average. Student/teacher ratios were average. After the Klein cutbacks, program spending was still the highest in the country.

While I can appreciate your leftist rant, the reality is that health education and other programs are doing quite well in Alberta. I know you think having more nurses per capita is somehow "scrambling for nurses" but clearly you're just an ideologue.

Did Ralph cut? Most definitely. Did there need to be cuts? Most definitely. Did the system implode? According to special interests it did. Fortunately, most Albertans don't place a lot of value on special interest.

On a side note, what's wrong with privatizing some aspects of government. As somebody who is not an ideologue like you, I judge each policy on its own merit.

One day you are actually going to have to learn to read. I'm not talking about the current situation under the NDP, I made it clear that I was talking about the Klein administration; a government whose early policies were so bad that the period after Klein became premier was referred to as the "Klein recession." Eventually his policies were disavowed even by most members of his own party.

No, anyone with a sense of decency was offended. Apparently that did not include you.

I'm well aware you're talking about the Klein era. So am I. On a whole, some of Ralphs policies were right of centre and some were left of center. Ralph was exceptionally middle of the road. Anybody that honestly looks at his total record and considers him right-wing is either a left wing ideologue or stupid. As I said, even after Klein's cuts, we were still leading the country in program spending. To call the highest spending government right-wing is simply laughable. Nothing you have to say on the matter is relevant

I agree, that calling a high spending government "right-wing" is laughable, but don't 'cha know, any other party who over-spends doesn't count I guess. sigh....

Obviously, because Ezra is the only source of information as to what happened at the rally. Does being as obtuse as you are take considerable practice

Hehehe...the NHL put on a hockey game last night. I guess TSN is not appropriate for news on the game. Seriously, do you have no idea how idiotic your arguments are?

you just won't admit to not having an open enough mind to find out first-hand what the rally was about and what happened there because you discount the original source. enjoy your continued ignorance bud. ;-)
