You think women generally, and feminists in particular, wouldn't be all over the use of "bitch?"
And I've explained this to you before. It obviously didn't take, so I'll give it one more try. Comparison of black people to apes has a special, historical, and racial significance in the United States. And the people doing it know that. It's why they do it. I don't expect a Canadian to feel that the way an American does, but I do expect you to understand it if you choose to comment.
I'm genuinely sorry that you find race hate funny.
I understand your point perfectly. I just don't agree with it.
Calling a black person an ape is an insult. Okay. Got it. Calling a woman a bitch is an insult. Okay, got that too.
But: Is there a person on the face of the earth who hasn't been insulted in some way at some time? I doubt it. Is there a day goes by when someone doesn't call someone else an a**hole, a mofo, a sh*thead or something a hell of a lot more offensive than 'ape'?
The mature and sensible way to deal with an insult is to turn your back and walk away, consider the source and don't make a big deal out of it.
People react to insults as if it was the worst thing that could happen to them. Reaction fuels the fire. It gives ignorant and cruel people an incentive to attack further because they know they can rile you up.
Stick and stones will break your bones but WORDS can never hurt you. Unless you let them.
Kids react to insults. Adults should know better.
