Re: "Racism" and "climate change": The Left's answer to everything

Ahem! Back to the topic; The plan for the environment looks good but it isn't done yet, is it? Will it ever get done? I doubt it very much!
I think the environmental situation is being addressed bass ackward. They want the manufacturers of the products which produce the pollution to find ways to manufacture without polluting. That is neither possible or realistic.
Now, if the demand for those products was reduced, the pollution would be reduced. If the population were reduced the demand would be reduced. The use of polluting products would also be reduced if everyone made a sincere effort. Automobiles are the big polluters. But people want bigger, faster vehicles. Hell, they won't even slow down to reduce gas consumption!. Just one example.
The polluting industries are necessary to the economy and there's the problem. The greed for profit will always exceed everything else.
In the '70s compact cars was the big thing. Little 4 cylinder runabouts. That didn't last long. Soon everyone wanted a van or an SUV or a truck. Now hybrid cars have come on stream but they aren't gaining much popularity either. For obvious reasons.
I really think the environmentalists mean well but they are pixxing against the wind and its blowing right back in their faces.
Not exactly. People like their vehicles alright, but it is not the people that take something simple like a headlight bucket (where the bulb is replaceable, the bucket is separate from the grille and whatnot so all pieces can be replaced separately and inexpensively as they wear out) and replace them with assemblies that are unitized and are freakin expensive. It was the auto manufacturers that did that. Headlight bucket and bulb for a 1980 F150, for instance, costs less that $50. A headlight assembly for a 2015 F-150 costs almost $450. Alternators, steering pumps, etc are also not rebuildable and replacement costs are very high. It is not consumer demand that made drivers' seats look like they are in the middle of what looks like Boeing cockpit.

Well Boom, you know how things are - after all, it's always "blame Obama and the Muzzies" according to the right wing. Small wonder why we have scores of threads on the SOS.

Reason we have score of threads on the topic is because it's in the news.. both in the USA and Canada..

But I think Congress or the Senate shut Obama down... didn't they.

Right. Which is why the Conservatives sent our military to Afghanistan. Oh wait, that was the Liberals.
How many countries has the US bombed now, just since O'Bomb-ya came into office?

Bush certainly isn't a liberal. But if you mean that Obama did not withdraw as he pledged to do, you're right.
