oil be seeing you in the next floss-tastic thread.

would YOU invest right away or maybe wait to see what the trained climate realist will have to say about the royalties you pay?

yeah, neither will teck.

Alberta NDP appoints "crackpot" global warming "cult member" Dave Mowat to lead royalty review

but it's probably just over reacting.

?????

Dave Mowat is head of the ATB and is a pretty respected guy in business circles here. I've never heard anything bad about him that didn't have to do with banking itself and mostly that was sour grapes. Choosing him for the royalty review was definitely Notley's best choice.

Not all oil from the WCSB goes to Cushing

Crude prices are typically quoted at a particular location. Unless otherwise stated, the price of WCS is quoted at Hardisty and the price of West Texas Intermediate (WTI) is quoted at Cushing, Oklahoma and the price of Brent was $US53.51/bbl.[11] By 18 March 2015 the price of benchmark crude oils, WTI had dropped to $US43.34/bbl.[11]:D6-D7 from a high in June 2014 with WTI priced above US$107/bbl and Brent above US$115/bbl.[12][13] WCS, a bitumen-derived crude, is a heavy crude that is similar to Californian heavy crudes, Mexico's Maya crude or Venezuelan heavy crude oils.[14] In 15 March 2015 the differential between WTI and WCS was US$13.8. Western Canadian Select is among the cheapest crude oils in the world[15] with a price of US$29.54/bbl on 15 March 2015,[11][16]:C6-7 its lowest price since April 2009. By mid-April 2015 WCS had risen almost fifty percent to trade at $US44.94.[17] By 2 June 2015 the differential between WTI and WTS was US$7.8, the lowest it has ever been.[18]

In the spring of 2015 veteran journalist specializing in energy and finance, Jeffrey Jones, described how the price of WCS "surged more than 70 per cent, outpacing West Texas intermediate (WTI), Brent" and "quietly" became the "hottest commodity in North American energy."[19] In April 2015 Enbridge filled a "new 570,000-barrel-a-day pipeline."[20] A May 2015 TD Securities report provides some of the factors contributing the WCS price gains as "normal seasonal strength driven by demand for the thick crude to make asphalt as road paving", improvements to WCS access to various U.S. markets in spite of pipeline impediments, five-year high production levels and high heavy oil demand in U.S. refineries particularly in the US Midwest, a key market for WCS.[19]
Bitumen comprises all of Canada’s unconventional oil, and is either upgraded to synthetic light crude, processed into asphalt or blended with other crudes and refined into products such as diesel, gasoline and jet fuel oil.[21] - Wiki

No bias at all?

He's head of a government bank. I presume the PC government originally hired him. Good to see the NDP think outside the box and hire an Albertan. They normally don't do that.

This is your free market at work and if that's your philosophy, then you should man up and stop making excuses when oil takes a nose dive.
No it's not.

It's what happens when yours and Mucliars notion of throttling oil happens.

OPEC turns taps down, price goes up.

OPEC turns taps up, price goes down.

This has less to do with the free market than your dope.

This is a 100% artificially controlled market made worse by speculation trading.

How the hell can you comment on things you obviously don't know anything about, other than what Der Leader says?

You trying for a cabinet post? :)
i love politics, but unfortunately my reputation was tarnished a long time ago,I have no chance to live anything in a role I may desire within politics, this use to bother me,but no more,I think all the rejection made me the moderate person I am.
so no worries, you will not have to worry I would be in a cabinet minister role.
my craft is not in a high profile capacity,a cabinet minister would be a waste of my talents.
if anything I am loyal,I want to give our Premier a chance.
