I think the best thing this country could do is have mandatory high school trips (or even exchange trips) with Bangladesh, Kazakhstan, Slovenia, et al.

The next generation need to know that they have the world by the short and curlies and that their parents are just whiny sucks with nothing better to complain about.

I thought we had a program much like that. The name escapes me but in the US when there was a draft rich peoples kids did it instead of joining the army.
We don't really need to send them overseas, there are a quite a few eye openers on lots of the res' here.A week riding third on an ambulance in DTES would send most rich spoilt brats running home.

Canadians are a funny people

There is a voluminous amount of complaining in the country, which strikes me as odd, given that it is one of the best, if not the best country in the world.

I had four real good kids, but even so, I used to tell them they should have to go
on exchange trip every couple of years to parts of the world, where their eyes would have been opened up real wide, and they would have been thrilled when
it was time to come home again, and better kids for it.
Yes, our adults do whine and complain, and many times have to search for trivia
to whine about, and then act as though it is a real serious problem.
(they should go on the exchange trips too.)
my grandaughter is in phillipines right now, working in an orphanage for two
months, and she had quite a hard time getting used to, how they 'manage' their
lives there. She will be home in 2 weeks, and organizers have suggested that she
stay with them for a week, to unwind and get back to normal, as the culture
shock is a big one, she has a big heart, and it will be 'tough' for her when she
has to leave those kids.

I am so happy to learn there is actually a place in this world today where 91% of its citizens can be pleased with their life. In the uSA that figure would be closer to 40% if that. We live in self pity down here. It is sad, believe me, parents killing their children, children killing their parents... the crime rate is phenominal, and rising.

Be happy You are so blessed.
Oh yeah, I don't have to tell you
what you already know.:fish:
