Quite so. Lincoln would no doubt be horrified at what has happened to the party he belonged to.
Both parties switched roles somewhere in the late 60s, early 70s. Eisenhower must be turning over in his grave at what has become of the republicans. Not that it really matters, but it would be interesting to know which party brought in corporate prisons. They are the new face of slavery.

A former congressional candidate in Georgia has been charged with murder after her former campaign manager was found dead in an apartment, according to local reports.
Kellie Collins, of Thomason, Ga., who had submitted her candidacy for the Democratic nomination to challenge a Republican incumbent for Georgia’s 10th congressional District in the 2018 midterms before dropping out, turned herself into authorities in McDuffie County, outside of Augusta, last week, the Augusta Chronicle reported. She has been charged with murder and grand larceny, the newspaper reported.
The victim, Curtis Cain, 41, was Collins’s campaign manager, WSB-TV reported. He was found dead Aug. 7 at his apartment in Aiken, S.C., which he shared with Collins, according to the State newspaper. It is not clear if the two were married or not, as some outlets have reported. The county coroner ruled that Cain died from loss of blood after being shot, WRDW reported.
