That's good. In fact when the MW was increased here in Gopherland the unemployment rate went down. As people earn more money they spend more. This generates more tax revenues and adds to the state's economy and promotes still more job growth.

Therefore, contrary to the myths of certain right wing delusionals, MW's should be increased throughout the USA and Canada.

I've watched minimum wage get increased 20 or 30 times in the past 50 years and the low wage earners are having exactly the same problems today they did then. It's not a political phenomenon but an economic one. - What do you think the land lord does when everyone's wage goes up? It's called a catch 22 situation.

That's exactly what happened here - the MW went up and there was a corresponding increase in consumption and demand for goods and services. This, in turn, increased jobs and tax revenues. Small wonder why the state's deficit disappeared and we now have a surplus and low unemployment.
