Will Charlie Gibson leave Fistgate to the 'Cables'?

Monte Kuligowski

Approximately a week after the ACORN video scandal broke Charlie Gibson was a guest on WLS-AM out of Chicago. He was asked why the networks were not covering the story. After nervous laughter and admitting he wasn’t even aware of the story, he stated, “Maybe this is just one you leave to the cables.”

The appointment of Kevin Jennings as Obama’s “Safe School Czar,” was an irony and a huge story from the day Jennings was installed. First, it was reported that Jennings had once counseled a male high school student who was having sex with a man. No, Jennings didn’t report the crime to the authorities; but he made sure the kid knew to use a condom.

Certainly, that wasn’t news. After all, Jennings now says he should have reported the matter.

Then it came out that Jennings was the founder of the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a radical homosexual-promoting organization.

Next, we learned that Jennings wrote a forward to a book in 1999 that advocated the “queering of elementary education.” Nothing newsworthy there.

Now we have the Fistgate story. The following is from BigGovernment.com:

In March 2000 the Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN) organization of Massachusetts held its 10 Year Anniversary GLSEN/Boston conference at Tufts University. This conference was fully supported by the Massachusetts Department of Education, the Safe Schools Program, the Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, and some of the presenters even received federal money. During the 2000 conference, workshop leaders led a “youth only, ages 14-21″ session that offered lessons in “fisting” a dangerous sexual practice. During another workshop an activist asked 14 year-old students, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?” The unbelievable audio clip is posted here. Barack Obama’s “Safe Schools Czar” Kevin Jennings is the founder of GLSEN. He was paid $273,573.96 as its executive director in 2007. Jennings was the keynote speaker at the 2000 GLSEN conference.

If the “mainstream” news media had investigated and reported on ACORN, the king of corruption and voter registration fraud, Obama’s name certainly would have come up. Therefore, it looks as though the media whispered, “story about ACORN, what story?”

Ditto on Kevin Jennings. Obama is tied and bound to Jennings; after all Obama chose the man to be his “Safe School Czar,” knowing that Jennings was the founder of GLSEN. Sure Obama will deny knowing the details of GLSEN; but a simple visit to their website would have revealed what they’re all about. Or he could have just asked Jennings.

The Kevin Jennings appointment will hurt Obama immeasurably once the story breaks through the double-bolted door of the “mainstream” newsroom. Every day that Jennings remains on staff Obama will have some explaining to do.

Charlie may want to leave this one to the “cables;” but, like the ACORN story, this one is too big -- and sick.

Fox News Poll: Obama's Job Approval Rating Regains Some Ground

President Obama's job approval rating has regained some ground and now stands at 50 percent, according to a Fox News poll released Thursday.

Forty-four percent of Americans currently disapprove of the job the president is doing.

In November, the president received his lowest approval rating to date when 46 percent of Americans said they approved of his job performance and 46 percent disapproved.

Francis, a president’s job approval rating goes up and down all the time, it is only the political partisans who get excited about it, especially the Republicans, Obama haters who post each and every drop in Obama’s approval rating here with glee, almost implying that Obama has as good as lost the 2012 election and we may as well crown Joan of Arc as the monarch in 2012,, there is no need of an election.

There are many factors which go into president’s job approval rating. While the economy is showing all the sings of coming out of recession, unemployment still remains stubbornly high, and people blame Obama for it. As unemployment picture improves, I expect his approval rating to go up next year.

But again, that will mean nothing, plenty can happen between now and 2012. Clinton had an approval of 40% mid term, yet he won the reelection by a big margin.

So this improvement is not really significant. Just as Obama haters were wrong to pop the Champaign corks when Obama’s approval rating was falling, just as they were wrong in licking their chops in anticipation of gaining control of Senate and House in 2010 and winning presidency in 2012, they would be equally wrong if they become glum as a result of the improved approval rating.

I think it is the normal ebb and flow of events, nothing more.

Funny, I haven't seen anyone but you use repeated, large, bold letters that only have a two word message.

Why, didn't you know? The Devil made me do it! ;)

Meet the Billionaire Brothers Funding the Right-Wing War on Obama

Meet the Billionaire Brothers Funding the Right-Wing War on Obama | Politics | AlterNet

''
They're the 9th richest people in America and they're pushing hard to upend President Obama's progressive agenda.

by Faiz Shakir, Amanda Terkel, Matt Corley, Benjamin Armbruster, Zaid Jilani, Lee Fang, and Alex Seitz-Wald

Billionaire brothers David and Charles Koch are the wealthiest, and perhaps most effective, opponents of President Obama's progressive agenda. They have been looming in the background of every major domestic policy dispute this year. Ranked as the 9th richest men in America, the Koch brothers sit at the helm of Koch Industries, a massive privately owned conglomerate of manufacturing, oil, gas, and timber interests. They are best known for their wealth, as well as for their generous contributions to the arts, cancer research, and the Smithsonian Institute. But David and Charles are also responsible for a vicious attack campaign aimed directly at obstructing and killing progressive reform. Over the years, millions of dollars in Koch money has flowed to various right-wing think tanks, front groups, and publications. At the dawn of the Obama presidency, Koch groups quickly maneuvered to try to stop his first piece of signature legislation: the stimulus. The Koch-funded group "No Stimulus" launched television and radio ads deriding the recovery package as simply "pork" spending. The Cato Institute -- founded by Charles -- as well as other Koch-funded think tanks like the Heritage Foundation, produced a blizzard of reports distorting the stimulus and calling for a return to Bush-style tax cuts to combat the recession.

Lies, more lies, and damnable lies ...........

Soros-Funded Think Tank Decries Billionaires In Public Policy
By Sean Higgins Tue., Dec. 08, '09 5:23 PM ET

The Center For American Progress sends out a daily “progress report” offering liberal spin on the issues du jour. Today CAP’s report was headlined, “The Billionaires Behind The Hate.” It was an attack on David and Charles Koch, wealthy philanthropists who, via their foundations, have supported free market groups such as the Heritage Foundation, the Competitive Enterprise Institute and the Cato Institute.
The column’s “how dare they fund public policy groups” pose is, to put it mildly, pretty disingenuous coming from an organization created by multi-billionaire George Soros, expressly for the purpose of pushing his public policy agenda.

Poor Hillary Clinton...

"..this is part of the vast right wing conspiracy."

...was her comment when the first accusations of the young intern came out. Little did she know that Slick Willy was indeed getting Lewinskis in their house. Hardly a conspiracy at all.

John McCain might be bringing up valid points about the Afghan mission but then so are millions of other people. Part of the issue is that this is a war that must be finished for America. Bringing up valid points and having solutions to those points are two separate things..

As to Hillary Clinton, she is doing very well at holding her own and even in a Fox poll shows the population as being extremely happy with her work..

— Secretary of State Clinton receives higher marks than either the president or the vice president, with 66 percent of Americans saying they approve of the job she's doing and 22 percent disapproving.

Hard times usually make for tough decisions and many will not be popular.. However on the Afghan war side Obama has seen surprisingly a good support from both Republican and Democrats from his Dec 1st speech.. This may explain McCain's attacks on Obama as he tries to take back some of that Republican support..

But aren't FOX polls irrelevant?

McCain, Repulicans, and conservatives were supportive and the only major disagreement was Obama putting a timeline to the mission. he has since backtracked on putting on the timeline on the mission saying that it is subjective to change as conditions change which is what he should have done.

Polls of all types are irrelevant unless its an actual Ballot Box poll ( Voting day )..

Anyone who believed that the date was 100% firm on the war mission was way off.. Sorry but no one can predict no changes might occur in a War mission.

The Clintons did not need any help from anybody smearing themselves.

Perhaps not, but the right wingers tried their best to help out the Clintons, they were smearing Clintons 24/7. Perhaps to their eternal frustration, they did not succeed. Not only Clinton easily won the reelection, but he left office with an approval rating in the 60s.

And she was right in a way, EagleSmack. The right wing smear machine, slime machine was in overdrive when Clinton was in office (same as it is in overdrive now that another Democrat is in office).

Wrong, Francis. Polls of all type are irrelevant unless they show a Republican winning, then they are very relevant.

Thus the poll that occurred in November 2008 was irrelevant, since a Republican did not win the presidency. That is why the birthers are trying to overturn the results of the election. They want Obama arrested, thrown in prison or at the very least deported, and McCain installed as the president (with Joan of Arc of course, being the real power behind the throne).
