I think that level of hatred--whatever it's source--is pretty unhealthy. There's really not a huge difference between the Demoracts and teh Republicans when they're in power. They all preside over some pretty nasty stuff. Clinton bombed Algeria to take the heat off the Lewinski scandal. Bush made a bunch of crap up and took his country into a pointless war. Obama is drone-splatting a lot of innocent civilians.

Conservatives and liberals look at things quite differently. But when you get to the level POTUS, it's remarkable how similarly they act. Probably because it's the people behind the scenes that run the show anyway.

D.C. turns on Obama

The town is turning on President Obama – and this is very bad news for this White House.
Republicans have waited five years for the moment to put the screws to Obama – and they have one-third of all congressional committees on the case now. Establishment Democrats, never big fans of this president to begin with, are starting to speak out. And reporters are tripping over themselves to condemn lies, bullying and shadiness in the Obama administration.

White House spokesman Jay Carney on Tuesday accused Republicans of leaking a falsified e-mail to the media in order to buttress their case that the Obama administration lied about aspects of the Benghazi crisis.

“They decided to fabricate portions of an e-mail and make up portions of an e-mail in order to fit a political narrative,” Carney said during the regular White House briefing. House Speaker John A. Boehner (R-Ohio), the spokesman said, is “obsessed” with the “political benefits” of the Benghazi dispute.

ABC purported to quote the operative paragraph of Rhodes’s e-mail, saying, “We must make sure that the talking points reflect all agency equities, including those of the State Department, and we don’t want to undermine the FBI investigation.”

Both articles concluded that this was proof that the State Department had been actively involved in removing information that showed a lack of security around the U.S. facility in Benghazi despite the known threat level. The talking points were used by Susan E. Rice, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, in Sept. 16 television appearances that Republicans have charged were intended to mislead for political gain.

According to a copy of the e-mail obtained by The Washington Post and other media outlets on Tuesday, Rhodes never mentioned the State Department in his e-mail. “We need to resolve this in a way that respects all of the relevant equities, particularly the investigation” of the attack by the FBI, Rhodes wrote.

If Obama had an Uncle...

Don't tell me the left doesn't survive primarily on luck. On Friday, April 12, the legacy media was on the ropes. A spectacular uproar, of a type never before seen, had erupted over media refusal to cover the trial of Kermit Gosnell, the serial killer lucky enough to own an abortion mill. The story they were attempting to bury involved his trial for a homicide by medical malpractice (one of several such), the murder of four healthy infants (out of hundreds of similar killings), the abuse of human remains, and assorted associated felonies. Gosnell had been enabled by official malfeasance on both the metropolitan and state levels. As a lagniappe, most of the victims, both infants and adults, were poor blacks.

In any other circumstance, the story would have been blasted nationwide. But Gosnell was an abortionist (as well as being black himself), and therefore protected.
