Sharia Law is based off of Religious law which is based off of some of the laws of the Torah/Old Testament. So you don't like Jews either?

People like this? Do you mean the extremist types or the more modernized followers of Islam? I've said repeatedly, Extremist Islam is evil, bad, wrong and doesn't belong. Moderate followers of Islam, however - just like the more moderate followers of Judaism and Christianity - don't believe in these harsher practices and try to follow the more peaceful path of Islam.

I don't believe Jesus was the son of God, I don't attend church, but there are people in my family who do. My ancestors were likely Christians - of all types including the not so great types - and they, too, built the European base of this country.

Unlike the Christian types who, say, think that as a woman I don't have the right to my own decisions about my body. Unlike certain Christian types who, say, think as a woman I shouldn't work but should be home popping out babies and that's it. Who think I should have been married off young to produce said babies, who think I should dress a certain way, think a certain way, live a certain way.

Even though for better or worse, there are many positive attributes of Islam, they put on blinders, and only focus on the bad.
Just as legitimate as your statement.
Not going to deny women, non-muslims, and others are treated badly by most Islamic states (though in the Quran, depending on your interpretation, this isn't supposed to happen). If the US hadn't backed the wrong people in Iran, likely it would be a more Westernized nation, if not the most Westernized nation, in the Middle East. Least, it was headed that way back before the "Revolution".
There are a LOT wrong in Islamic countries; it's why I very much dislike Saudi Arabia - actually them more than other Islamic states, simply because the West kowtows to them for the oil and pretends everything is getting better or there's nothing wrong to begin with. Buzz; wrong.
Sadly there's a common thread to the major extreme views of Islam and those countries that are Islamic controlled - they do fall under the Extreme of Islam. Because that Extremism is dangerous, deadly, and it favors the powerful.
But just as there's different Interpretations of the Bible/Christianity, so there is about the Quran. I won't hold ALL followers of Islam to that same blackness of Extremism, just as I don't for Christians.
I just hate the blind reactions of anti-Islamic morons who think Islam is the only evil religion and refuses to admit Christianity was, can be and still is just as bad.
Ironically, if you'd just say "Extreme Islam is evil and so is Extreme Christianty" then the discussion would be over. But your broadbrushing of everyone of the Islamic faith is bad for the world, when that's not the case, needs a reality check.
