The majority of the people working pipeline are contractors like me,they have their own corporations,as an inspector it is mandatory,as a contract operator or whatever it gets you a couple more bucks an hour.
Wulfie and capn can also verify this.
I'm firing up my other pc to post you the letter I got on what is needed to be an inspector and have your own corporation.

As a government worker all I can say is this isn't even the half of it. And actually it's not all the bad. Mostly public sector workers take days off that non-union private workers would be forced to work through. Abuse of sick days is peanuts. I have co-workers so incompetent that them doing their job actually makes things worse, so management strips them of nearly all their duties and passes them on to workers with lower pay grades. That's how the bureaucracy deals with inefficiency. Continue paying the incompetent but don't let them touch anything. I bet you can walk into any government bureaucracy and 50% the workers would be redundant and maybe 10% are just ghosts wandering around doing nothing and collecting nice pay cheques with benefits. It's basically welfare for the mentally retarded.
