~An interesting photograph has surfaced of returning war hero Bowe Bergdahl and one of his captors, the eponymous Haqqani hotshot Badar'udin Haqqani. Believers regard infidels as unclean - that's why at Guantanamo each new detainee's Koran is presented to him by guards wearing gloves and carrying the holy book suspended in a surgical mask, because as part of our full-service abasement before our enemies we accept their proposition that we are filthy. So it's interesting to see young Haqqani getting all touchy-feeling with "Sergeant" Bergdahl.
The Haqqani are the toughest terrorists in Afghanistan, and the Obama Administration thought Badar'udin a big enough threat to drone him in 2012. Prior to deserting, "Sergeant" Bergdahl wrote that "I am ashamed to be an American", which apparently is no obstacle to getting your family a Rose Garden photo-op with the President. The question is how far that shame carried him.

The Army made Bergdahl a sergeant, and a couple of Canadian Jodies choose to denigrate that. A professional mouth and a night watchman with delusions of hard-man.

As it stands, the anecdotal and circumstantial evidence against him is overwhelming. Unless you believe the fairies spirited him away, and the Taliban commander was doing ecstasy.
Which does not make him any less a sergeant, until and unless he is stripped of that rank by military authorities. Another thing you and Steyn are not. Jodies don't get a vote.
