Liberal Leader Mark Carney says he rejects comments made by Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet, who called Canada “an artificial country.”

“I reject them completely. This is an incredible country. I’m incredibly proud to be Canadian (this week?),” Carney said during a campaign stop at Seneca Polytechnic in King City, Ont., on Saturday morning.

The Liberal leader has a packed schedule on Saturday, making several stops in the vote-rich Greater Toronto Area.

According to the latest Nanos Research polling, the Liberals’ lead over the Conservatives has narrowed as the campaign is down to the wire.

It is looking like time for BC to separate from the lower mainland area too. Hopefully, Vancouver Island North of the Malahat could remain part of BC, with Victoria area and Lower mainland being their own poverty stricken getto.
I believe Northern B.C. actually wants to be part of Alberta & if a referendum was held, they'd willingly leave B.C. to their socialist brothers!

You mean. . . tax money pays for a large part of your health care?

Well. . . nothing socialist about that.

Driver's medicals cost because of the extra paperwork it takes and they're NOT covered by whatever Healthcare the provinces have. Not 'essential healthcare' kind'a thing.

Same for blood tests. Specialized tests, private labs or labs not covered by the provinces Healthcare all are charged.

While we do pay for health care through taxes, it's not ALL health care that's covered. I find it funny that people bitch about how much health care costs in taxes and oh we should have to pay for it like the US, but if they suddenly have to pay for something that's health care based, then they bitch if they DO have to pay for it because the coverage isn't there.

Then there's the "the immigrants get all free health care!"

Actually, only partly true. Depending on their type of immigration, they have to pay for their tests initially, until they're either on an insurance or Government program before getting their Provincial cards. We've started to see an uptick in immigrants coming to our hospital for tests and some have had to pay, some didn't.
