Manafort granted a delay in order to review several hundred thousand documents - mainly from a device belonging to Rick Gates, his former associate, who pled guilty already to conspiracy against the United States and is now working with Mueller. He is supposed to serve about 70 months.

Manafort will obviously be getting a lot more time than that - up to 10 years on this tax evasion charge alone. He is alleged to made about $30 million off of Putin goon in the Ukraine, and hidden it here there and everywhere.

http://thehill.com/homenews/adminis...tnesses-immunized-to-testify-against-manafort

A federal judge on Monday revealed the identities of the five witnesses that were granted immunity to testify against former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

The witnesses, who Mueller's team submitted for immunity last week and whose identities were not released publicly until Monday, are James Brennan, Donna Duggan, Conor O'Brien, Cindy Laporta and Dennis Raico, according to Talking Points Memo.

Each of the witnesses are connected to financial institutions, according to The Washington Post's Rachel Weiner.

Two expected witnesses in the case, Washington lobbyists Tony Podesta and Vin Weber, whose firms allegedly participated in a public relations campaign for Ukraine with Manafort, are not among the immunized witness, Talking Points Memo reported.

U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis granted them immunity to speak freely while testifying about Manafort.

Manafort is facing charges related to alleged financial crime from before he joined the Trump campaign. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. Though his attorneys have tried to delay his trial and move him to other jurisdictions, judges have consistently denied his requests.

The former Trump aide is accused of money laundering and failing to register as a foreign agent, among other violations. His Virginia trial is scheduled for this month, followed by another trial for similar charges in Washington, D.C., in September.

Ellis also delayed Manafort's trial in Virginia until July 31, according to CNN.

Last week, Mueller released a list of more than 500 pieces of evidence against Manafort.

It really is just incredible how many right wing freaks there are in the US, each with his or her own following of the misinformed.

Exclusive: CNN obtains secret Trump-Cohen tape

Presidential candidate Donald Trump is heard on tape discussing with his attorney Michael Cohen how they would buy the rights to a Playboy model's story about an alleged affair Trump had with her years earlier, according to the audio recording of the conversation aired exclusively on CNN's "Cuomo Prime Time."

The recording offers the public a glimpse at the confidential discussions between Trump and Cohen, and it confirms the man who now occupies the Oval Office had contemporaneous knowledge of a proposal to buy the rights to the story of Karen McDougal, a woman who has alleged she had an extramarital affair with Trump about a decade ago.

Transcript of Cohen tape suggests Trump knew about models deal to sell story of alleged affair

Donald Trump appeared familiar with a deal that a Playboy model made to sell the rights to her story of an alleged affair with him when Trump discussed the matter in September 2016 with his attorney Michael Cohen, according to a transcript of their conversation.

The transcript, which was provided by President Trumps legal team, shows the then-GOP presidential nominee does not register confusion or surprise when Cohen references a plan to purchase the rights to model Karen McDougals story from American Media Inc., the parent company of the National Enquirer.

The presidents legal team released the transcript after one of Cohens attorneys, Lanny Davis, provided CNN with the audio of the tape.

Reminds me of the John Edwards political scandal.

Obviously Edwards was not a reality tv show host, but still...

House Speaker Ryan says he opposes conservative effort to impeach Rod Rosenstein, who oversees special counsel probe on Russia

Speaker Paul D. Ryan told reporters the Justice Department needs to comply with congressional requests for documents. But he said the response from Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein does not rise to the level of "high crimes and misdemeanors" that would warrant impeachment.

Ryan's comments came hours after 11 House Republicans introduced a resolution to impeach Rosenstein. The Justice Department has said it is cooperating with Congress.

Republican leaders averted a divisive vote on the resolution in the near term as the House breaks for its August recess.

Its just a Tea Party thing.

There is no way he can be impeached. They wouldn't even have a majority of Party of Russian Colluders, let alone any Dems.

It's high to quit nattering about impeachment. It's not a viable option especially as it is NOT a legal process. It's been tried at most about twice since Geo. Washington and at least once it's backfired. When was it proven that Trump has done something illegal?

And you have the unmitigated audacity to talk about weaseling...…………………………………….ASSHOLE!

Wow, how can I fail to bow before such a carefully crafted, meticulously logical, and solidly supported argument?

Bloody imbecile.

Did you read the article about the USCGC Bruckenthal?

It might have taught you something about the difference between being a man and pretending to be one on the internet.
