Think of it this way....if it is written into the constitution, then it isn't a freedom of speech issue anymore....it's a win, win situation!!

I can't agree Jay. It should not be banned. The US Supreme Court was clear on this:

"If there is a bedrock principle underlying the First Amendment, it is that the Government may not prohibit the expression of an idea simply because society finds the idea itself offensive or disagreeable."

I know we don't agree here... I just think it is a noble cause....I'm a bit of a sucker for a good flag.

If it was written into the constitution...the supreme court couldn't do anything about it....

I know what you're saying also. But the Constitution is meant to give rights, not take them away. Whats next? Making abortion illegal?

Well that’s part of it...but the intentions of a constitution are to put cornerstone rules outside the reach of the things like the supreme court.... saying you can't desecrate the nations symbol is a cause worthy of an amendment...abortion, I'm sure, is already considered protected by the constitution.... otherwise it might still be illegal.

Roe v. Wade, 410 U.S. 113 (1973), was a landmark United States Supreme Court case establishing that laws against abortion violate a constitutional right to privacy, overturning all state laws outlawing or restricting abortion. It remains one of the most controversial decisions in Supreme Court history.

Honestly Ocean, I don't know. I'm just "hoping" it will go the right way. No ban on flag burning.
