That is why the death penalty would be a good thing!

Yep, when I was a kid we knew it as Lulu lsland. "Richmond" didn't exist in those days!

from new westminster, one had to drive over the old queensboro bridge, thru queensboro, then into
richmond, it was always there.

my husband grew up in queensboro, and we lived there for the first 8 years we were married.

drove thru richmond many times, saw the tunnel being built, we were all amazed at the time.
then the oak street bridge, the new queensboro bridge and on and on.
funny that I still call it 'the new queensboro bridge', it was built in the
early 60s, but we used the old one for a long time before that, it went right off
of the end of lulu island, into New Westminster, and old tressle bridge, and we had to wait many times for
boats to go by, before we could cross.

and Sea Island...

one has to go over another bridge to sea island, it is its own island.

steveston,(part of richmond), richmond and queensboro are all on lulu island, nothing else.

Does anyone still think the Fraser seperates Surrey from Richmond or does it seperate Surrey from New West?

both, and the river separates into two arms, and lulu island sits in the middle
of each arm, at the south end of new westminster.
Yup I knew that without having to look at a map. So far you're the only one who knows Queensborough (anarchist Island too) is New West and not part of Richmond.

Ummmm......I used to work in New West. Crossed the Alex Fraser & Queensborough bridges twice a day. I could correct some earlier posts like how the river separates Surrey from N West when it also separates Surrey from Coquitlam, Poco & Pitt Meadows. ;-)

I've lived in all of those except Pitt Ghettos. Coquitlam I liked the most. .

we use to go to annacis island in a boat to go fishing, when I was a teenager, there was no
viaduct then, going from queensboro to annacis, and nothing was on annacis.

yeah, queensboro was always and is definitely part of new westminster, but years ago the west end of new westminster
was called D L, and was actually a separate area.

sapperton is also part of new westminster.

I was born in new westminster, and have lived all over that city, then in queensboro for 8 years, then
surrey for 13 years, (newton), when it was out in the country and a really nice area to raise children.

maillardville is not part of new westminster.

the port mann bridge is an example of that, also the new bridge further up, forget
what it is called, 'golden ears'?, can't remember, but that is from langley to
pitt meadows.

Newton was ok years ago, now the King George corridor extends Whalley all the way past Newton to about 64th ave.

Kind of expected from BC folks. A makeshift bomb is found on the public transit and they start up a discussion about geography.

One has to cross the Fraser to get from Richmond to anywhere else on the planet.

Funny, I thought Petros was SK folk.
