Well, if you don't accept the temperature record, that's fine. Most people, even among skeptics, accept the instrumental temperature record showing a global rise in temperature of about 0.74 deg C. If you don't accept the temperature record, then your logical response with respect to global warming, should be "I don't know" since that should be your conclusion when lacking any data.

Global Warming Is Caused By Mann-Made Data Tampering

The image below extends the 1975 National Academy of Sciences Northern Hemisphere temperature graph, with RSS Northern Hemisphere satellite temperatures. There are warming and cooling cycles, but no warming trend.

NASA and NOAA creates the imaginary trend, by massively cooling temperatures between 1890 and 1960 (green line below.)

There is nothing precise about the advent and passing of ice ages and interglacial periods. They are periodic, but not in any readily predictable way.

The difference here is that CO2 levels have increased faster than at any time in the geological record. CO2 levels are higher than at at any time. Interglacials are typically around 280 to 300 ppm CO2. The current concentration of around 390 is about 20% higher than anything in the past 800,000 years, according to ice core samples.

Geologically speaking, we've supercharged the the atmosphere with CO2 instantaneously (150 years). Myself, given the heat-trapping properties of CO2, I would expect to seea consequent rise in temperature.[/QUOTE
Yikes go to bed get up in the morning . I hope it is cold where you live this winter. Because rest assured come next summer the heat wave will definitely be caused by global warming . Meanwhile the record cold snap you are suffering through is obviously a sign of climate change .

I had more respect for that same weather pattern when it was called a Siberian Chinook.

BTW the less green there is on the earth the higher the CO2 will be.

That site links to the jounral paper that explains how they derived the temperature record. The raw data are available to all. Lots of guys have taken a run at the data, including the folks at Climate Audit. If Mann is tampering wiht the data then so are all the other data collectors--HADCRUT, NOAA, NSIDC the folks running the satellites. Because they all show a warming.

Again, believe it or not, it's up to you. I know you like conspiracy theories. I'm not one for them myself.

Meh. Probably won't kick in in any really noticeable way until 2050, in my opinion. 2030 according to the IPCC, but I think they are a little pessimistic myself. Except for teh arctic--seems to be more pronounced up there for some reason.

How many of those 1880 monitoring stations was in a rural setting yet in the last years was in the middle of an urban setting whith that natural rise in temperature being the one that was measured.

Lots. Plus they can measure temperatures by satellite now. Whihc means they have apretty good handle on the urban heat island effect. Also, the arctic ice isn't in an urban environment, and it has decreased qutie significantly since 1979 when satellite measurements started, so the idea the whole thing is an artifact of UHIE is kind of out the window.

I got the same treatment yesterday.

Apparently if you maintain an alternate opinion to buddy, he paints the page with reddies.

But, take heart, it probably has more to do with him being so red with embarrassment with the realization that he bought into this horse sh*t in the first place

21 cold related deaths in one of the richest countries in the world - how sad is that..

Pretty sad, Boomer. But when you realize that not everyone in one of the richest countries in the world is rich, 21 is a pretty low number.

BTW; still rainin like a bugger here, still January thawing. As normal. just sayin.
