Saying the quiet bits out loud.

And you wonder why people fear Abortion rights are going to be an issue in Canada.
What a goof. The fact that he is probably bringing forth items that his constituents consider important makes him bad in your eyes and those of the dimwit in the video.

Higher voter turnout that time around?
Ding-ding-ding! About 55-60% of eligible voters actually vote typically. Particularly controversial elections have bigger turnouts.

I would have explained that to pgs, but why bother? It's like discussing astrophysics with pigs. For pgs, anything that doesn't go his way is always the Great Big CONSPIRACEEEEEEEE! out t'git him. Moron would blame Biden for a rainy day.

Nobody is laughing at this point. Maybe punching more holes in their belts, but not laughing.

And yet Poilievre continues to prove he doesn't deserve the leadership and PM status with stunts like he's pulling over the tariff threat from Trump. Instead, he'd rather undermine any position Canada has all to get at Trudeau. Not to say Trudeau's stance is exceptional, it's instead typical. But at least he's NOT giving "aid" to Trump's talking points. And PP is doing a great job at saying a lot that means nothing.

So...what are the Canadian plans to curb Fentanyl and illegal migration? Complain?

You want this?

Snapshot of the overdose crisis
Since 2016, there have been:
over 44 000 opioid-related deaths
over 42 000 opioid-related hospitalizations
over 174 000 opioid-related emergency department visits
About 3 out of 4 opioid-related deaths were among males since 2016
The toxicity and unpredictability of the illegal drug supply continues to be a major driver of the overdose crisis with over 80% of opioid-related deaths involving fentanyl and fentanyl analogues
The majority of opioid-related deaths occurred in British Columbia, Alberta, and Ontario

How about something you can relate to?

National prevalence data on substance use among lesbian, gay, and bisexual bLGBc high school students indicate that LGB students use substances at significantly higher rates than their straight peers (Jones et al., 2020c. This risk is compounded by LGB youths’ increased risk of attempting suicide compared to their straight, cisgender peers (Johns et al., 2019; Johns et al., 2020c. Given that most previous research on youth substance use relies on federal datasets that have not measured gender identity in ways that include transgender or nonbinary youth, there is little research on transgender and nonbinary youths’ substance use. Using data from The Trevor Project’s 2021 National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health, this brief examines the relationship between lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer or questioning bLGBTQc youths’ substance use and their risk of suicide.

So whats it going to be save lives or cry over money?

President-elect Trump promised to cut energy costs by 50% in 18 months. That won’t be accomplished without Canadian resources. Just getting that out-of-the-way. Then to offer some perspective on Danielle Smith from Alberta:
1732797723688.jpeg
Second in oil production in Canada is Saskatchewan, & third is Newfoundland.

The United States of America borders on exactly two countries. Canada to the north and Mexico to the south. Canada borders on one country, and does the majority of its trade with that one country it shares a land border with…to the tune of about 3/4’s of its exports going to America. I’m just defining the relationship here.
1732799291108.jpeg
In the past, in recent memory, efforts to diversify (putting our eggs into more baskets) have been stymied (& yes, I’m going to use the oil industry as an example shortly) becauit’s much cheaper and easier to deal with a bordering country, but it is to ship products and resources across either the Pacific or Atlantic oceans.

What happens when Alberta (& Sask) try to expand the ability to get oil/gas/etc…to I did the Atlantic or the Pacific oceans in order to export that product into “other baskets?” Do we get a unified Team Canada approach? Something that’s good for the nation as a whole, like building the trans Canada Highway or the transcontinental railroad, this it must go through? Not so much….& yes, AB and SK are completely landlocked, and MB with the exception of Churchill for part of the year might as well be also.

(I happen to be on the logistical side of bringing finished products from America into Canada. That’s what I do. Just getting that out of the way also)

Anyway, back to Trump and tariffs. Yes, Canada is a fraction of the illegal immigrant problem and drug smuggling problem into America that Mexico is, but it still is part of the problem. It still has the longest undefended border in the world with its only neighbour. Yes, we can do better. Yes, the border goes in both directions.

We can crack down on illegal immigration (and emigration) and drug (& gun) smuggling in both directions at our border…at the same time!! It’s the same Border!!! Wouldn’t that be cool? Decreasing the amount of of illegal immigration, & drug smuggling, & gun smuggling, etc…coming into Canada Is half of the issue solved (or working towards being solved), & a decrease in the amount of illicit goods & bodies flowing into the US would be a byproduct of that. Huh…

Now for a twist. We increase military spending, drones, etc…& utilize that resource to combat/enforce our own border security domestically. This increases military spending, decreases crime, Slows down the open floodgate of handguns coming in from the US into Canada, slows down the illegal importation of fentanyl into our nation, etc…
