I used to see pet abuse nearly every day when i was a letter carrier..officially we were told to just do our jobs and not pay attention to such things. i have to add that i've seen many instances where people were abused much worse than any animal ever was!

Good comment Risus, respect for these good little four legit friends is a must. I wander what goes through these peoples minds when they abuse their animals.

Save an animal, own a beaver.
I abuse a couple of our pets incessantly. They love it. I pull their whiskers, tickle the fur on their feet when they sleep, etc. A friend had a cat who used to love being picked up by the tail and swing around a couple times and tossed at the screen door. Kept climbing down and coming back till you went away.
Beating or whipping or the like is a nono, though.

Tim is a food item like the carrots. I only let him believe he's a cherised member of the family, that magnifies my pleasure at the thought of the pending fatefull day. I envision Tims innocent eye upon the blade in my hand blissfully unaware that I have a history of chicken murder.

Been there.... The one dance your gimpy bird will do well is a little number called the funky chicken.... I preferred an axe though. Much faster and quite impersonal. I mean ... you do firewood with that....
