I want to know who encouraged the women to come forward with allegations. Was it one of Brown's opponents? Was it a #metoo advocate like Oprah? Maybe it was the Russians?

Maybe, it WAS the Russians. The plan seems to be to disrupt the democratic processes of the West, wherever they may be. They are at war with us and we are being really slow about understanding that.

Are you one of their soldiers or are you merely a random idiot?

It could be at everyone else's expense. I'd probably would not have voted for him, but now I feel compelled to vote for him merely because it is a rejection of whomever is attempting to weaponize allegations.

I don't want to live in a country that takes allegations serious but not the denials. That is no better than taking denials serious but not allegations. The time is right to fix things once and for all. We need allegations and denials taken serious, and we need to follow the evidence to draw conclusions. This is 2018, the media has to stop trying to run our justice system.

He wasn't fired. He resigned. Because he is no longer leader, he was released from Caucus.

Mr Busybody. Flossy has an opinion about everything. It must suck being 14 yrs old, stuck in daddy's basement.

Don't you have any friends? Take your tablet and go to the mall. You can play video games with the kids.

I believe that within the party exec at least, they realized that Brown probably wasn't the best choice for leader, but party members voted him in.

That's why I asked the question on another thread if the PCs might have had something to do with these two women coming forward. Did they want him out? Precious little happens in politics for no reason. Taxslave said,

" I think Wynn most likely because it is too close to election time for party insiders to take a chance on what should be a shoe in election."

Sounds logical, but I still wonder what is in the minds of the PC inner circle.

If any good comes of Brown being in the race, it will be if the party rejects his bid and dumps him after the first ballot. That will send a clear message to Brown. The amount of time and money spent on the party leadership race better be worth it. It will be over on March 10th, and then on to serious campaigning.

After the election is over, I hope that some PCs come forward and give their views on Brown's attempt to reclaim the leadership of the party.

It's too early to say, but the PCs may have (yet again) snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The next couple of weeks will be a little leadership campaigning and then the vote. 10 Mar we'll know who will carry the PC flag.

But while all of that is going on, what are Ontario voters thinking about the whole thing?

Wynne returning to Queen's Park would be bad for the province. I do not hold Patrick Brown completely responsible for what happened, but I think he should have stayed on the sidelines for a few months. If he truly cared about the PCs more than himself, he would have done so and avoided the bad press which will dog the PCs until June.

His ego got in the way. That should tell party members more about the man than what he will say when campaigning.

Brown has no choice but to run as a candidate, Canadian libel laws only allow you to sue for damages which will be substantially higher when he loses.

I would think having to give up being leader of the PCs would be a good start at suing for damages.

I don't know how the court works WRT settlements. I do believe that he won't make it past the first ballot. Personally, I feel that he has been wronged, but regarding him being leader of the PCs, I'm hopeful that they give the job to someone else.
