Parallel worlds exist and interact with our world, say physicists

New theory explains many of the bizarre observations made in quantum mechanics.

Quantum mechanics, though firmly tested, is so weird and anti-intuitive that famed physicist Richard Feynman once remarked, "I think I can safely say that nobody understands quantum mechanics." Attempts to explain some of the bizarre consequences of quantum theory have led to some mind-bending ideas, such as the Copenhagen interpretation and the many-worlds interpretation.
Now there's a new theory on the block, called the "many interacting worlds" hypothesis (MIW), and the idea is just as profound as it sounds. The theory suggests not only that parallel worlds exist, but that they interact with our world on the quantum level and are thus detectable. Though still speculative, the theory may help to finally explain some of the bizarre consequences inherent in quantum mechanics, reports RT.com.
The theory is a spinoff of the many-worlds interpretation in quantum mechanics — an idea that posits that all possible alternative histories and futures are real, each representing an actual, though parallel, world. One problem with the many-worlds interpretation, however, has been that it is fundamentally untestable, since observations can only be made in our world. Happenings in these proposed "parallel" worlds can thus only be imagined.

This really shows the state of modern cosmology which has a abandoned the scientific method of experiment, empirical proof, AND, its link to practical technology for these nonsensical thought experiments, usually based on some esoteric, abstract mathematics.

Once science loses its fundamental inspiration in techological progress it becomes a form of mysticism, alienated from reality and utility. Realize that none of this stuff can EVER be proved, it just floats out there as some magical talisman.

Kinda like religion, eh!

I met an authentic Leprecaun ... not the St.Paddy's day green cardboard cut-out ... the real thing, this afternoon. He's a short, fey, dark little Irishman who came out of nowhere, blurted out a couple of salient things that no one else on earth (except my three companions) would or could know and then shuffled off to unknown places. I'm not sh1ttin' ya. I have three lucid witnesses. I haven't poured myself a Bushmill's yet but I'm gonna.

Yep, cosmology (like climatology and others), has become a belief system supported solely by faith, with an ordained priesthood who alone can garner academic appointments, publishing, tenure, and is governed by a strict dogma from which no one dare dissent. My problem is they are calling themselves a 'science'.

But do you see the parallels between science and Catholicism or any of hierarchic religion?

But Catholicism calls itself a religion. We all should know that absolute proof of God can only be affirmed by Faith. When you have science making the same claims for scientific postulants, intended as a basis for practical technology, you have contravened the tenets and purpose of the discipline.

It's worth noting that the Scientific Method was developed in institutions founded by the Catholic Church (universities, hospitals, monasteries). They know the difference between faith and science. Modern cosmology has decided it is now a Faith.
