Ten Penny, (I hope I spelleed your name correctly) when history will be written, it is cinch that Nixon WILL rate way ahead of Obama.

You wish, Yukon, you wish. Nixon will go down n history as a low life, the ultimate in sleaze. His achievement in making peace with China in no way compensates for his Watergate break in, the Enemies List, missing tapes, erasure of 17 minutes of a crucial part of a tape etc.

Nixon will go down as just about the worst president in history, nothing that Obama does will top that.

jack,
Your political views make you sound like a minion of Satan, prince of darkness. It is all you can see out there in the wasteland of politics. Demons own both the Dems and the Reps. You are just a bill board for one squad of the team.

Close, Cliffy. I think Yukon fancies himself as the representative of God, and anybody who disagrees with him (like you or I), he considers them to be the spawn of Satan.

Cliffy, I am sorry to have given you more credit in the past, but it is plain to see that you decided to subscribe to the school of liberal idiocy sponsored and taught by SirJosephPorter.

With this post you proved that you graduated with honours.

Well, Yukon, I am glad to see my name being taken in vain when I am not around. That is flattering, in a way.

Maybe, but actually as far as being corrupt, I think Warren G. Harding beats him by a nose. I've also heard that Nixon did a lot to redeem his character and reputation in his last 20 years. Maybe the president was worse the man.

Y.J. I've got one question for you to answer truthfully. Has there been ONE Democrat Pres. that was better than Nixon?

Absolutely not. Every Democratic President has been worse than every Republican President. Not only that, but Republican Presidents get better and better all the time (Eisenhower was the best president ever, then Nixon was the best president ever, then Reagan was the best president ever and so on) while Democratic Presidents get worse and worse all the time (e.g. FDR was the worst president ever, after that, Kennedy was the worst president ever, then Johnson, then Carter, after that Clinton was the worst president ever, now Obama is the worst preside ever and so on).

That is how conservative logic works, JLM. Let me put down a few simple rules which govern the conservative logic.

Every Republican president is the best president ever.

Every Democratic president is the worst president ever.

Every Democratic politician is deathly afraid of every Republican politician (thus Obama is deathly afraid of Palin and of Mark Sanford), Clinton was deathly afraid of Bob Dole and Newt Gingrich and so on).

Republicans are going to win the control of Senate and House in 2010 and win the presidency in 2012. Same way the Messiah is going to win a majority here in Canada. In fact, conservatives are always heavily favored to win the next election.

Keep these simple rules in mind and you will understand how the conservative mind works.

And what exactly did Nixon do to redeem his reputation, JLM? I cannot think o f a single thing.

I vividly remember the remark being made on the news, it was more to do with his personal good deeds than anything he did politically. Who knows maybe he was a good Rotary member or perhaps played Santa Claus a couple of Xmases.

I don’t know what good deeds you are referring to, JLM, but at most personal good deeds may redeem Nixon as a person, not as a politician or a president. The two are not the same thing.

Thus, Bush probably is a squeaky clean person, not even his worst enemies have accused him or corruption, sleaze, extramarital affairs etc. But as a president, he was universally despised. He left office with approval rating of 28%.

On the other hand, Clinton left a lot to be desired as a person, with his sexual affairs and lying. However, he was universally acclaimed, loved as a president. He left office with approval rating of 65%.

So it is quite possible that Nixon may have redeemed himself as a person, but as a president, he will forever remain a sleaze ball, and his administration will go down in history as one of the most corrupt administrations.

Yes, I remember the CREEP, TenPenny, I was living in USA at that time. I also watched the subsequent impeachment hearings.

The committee was actually supposed to be CRP, Committee to Reelect the President. Nixon opponent turned it into CREEP (perhaps a more appropriate acronym than CRP).

Incidentally, I understand there have been some attempts to ban me while I was away. Well they will have to try harder, I suppose. I am flattered that some posters find my arguments so compelling, so unanswerable that the only way they can refute my arguments is try to get me banned.

Well, try harder, fellows.

And did I read on another thread that Talloola had left? She will be sorely missed.

When or what did some do to try and ban you?

JLM, I venture to say that I know a heck of a lot more about American history than you, SieJosephPorter and especially that rodent, gopher put together.

So, to answer you question, YES: Thomas Jefferson. James Madison. James Munroe. Harry Truman. Andrew Jackson. Martin van Buren. FDR. JFK.

I leave Woodrow Wilson, Grover Cleveland, Franklin Pierce and especially that embarrasment of the office Jimmy Carter.

SirJosephPorter and Cliffy, according to you, I am supposed to be a religious, right wing nut.

So, isn't it strange that it is you two who never fail to mention God, Satan, etc, and attribute unsubstantiated 'quotes' to me?

If you two ever need a definition of the word "HYPOCRIT", look in the mirror.

I got a red rep by some Troll (an anonymous rep, he did not have the guts to reveal his name), who claimed that they (the Trolls) are going to ban me (not try to ban me, mind you, but they were going to ban me). This is what the red rep said, word for word:

We're going to ban you on Jul 5th, 2009

So I assume the Trolls here must have tried to ban me and failed. Hence my advice to them to try harder.

And why shouldn’t we mention God or Satan, Yukon? Are those concepts the monopoly of the religious? Anybody may mention them.

If you two ever need a definition of the word "HYPOCRIT", look in the mirror.

I thought hypocrisy (and incidentally, it is 'hypocrite', and not 'hypocrit') was synonymous with conservatism (Larry Craig, Ensign, Sanford, Rush ‘drug addict’ Limbaugh, Gingrich and so on).

Yukon, all safely dead and buried, I see. I assume you subscribe to the view that the only good Democrat is a dead Democrat.

I wouldn't worry about it S.J. - that was about the time all the retards came out of the woodwork. You name and mine came up a lot, but I just gave it right back to them and now all but a couple of them have disappeared........:lol: Oh yeah, I think your term "poodles" was mentioned as being offensive. Try "pitbulls" next time.:lol:

Ban you for what, Sir Joseph? All I heard so far was that you were the king of obtuse. I take that with a pinch of salt.
I was under the impression that in order to be booted, one has to screw with the forum rules.

Sorry, I misspelled the word "hypocrite" that best describes liberals and Democrats, like Bill Clinton. Like Jimmy Carter. Like Barrack Obama. Nancy Pelosi.

And I don't even have to go to those liberals who have committed the same kind of hypocrisy that the conservatives are so roundly criticised of. SirJosephPorter, you know fully well who they are. And you also know it fully well that they far out-number conservative miscreants.

Closer to home, SirJosephPorter and Cliffy fully qualify for the title.

Quite so, Anna. But many Trolls here find my arguments, my reasoning to be compelling, to be unanswerable. At least that is the impression I get. Rather than coming back at me with counterarguments, they come back with insults, with abusive language. You did say on another thread that you had some experience of that, so I suppose you know what I am talking about.

Trying to get somebody banned is an easy short cut to try to stifle the opposing argument. Anyway, I am just recounting what the Troll said in the red rep.

SirJosephPorter, I was not the one who brought up the question. In his infinite liberal wisdom, JLM did. Conveniently forgetting that Nixon was also dead.

And PLEASE, DO NOT go putting words in my mouth about good/dead Democrats.

Maybe your vacation wasn't long enough for you to clear your mind.
