Why worry about it? Why put all this energy into convincing yourself of impending doom? That Peter guys predicts the world will collapse every day. According to guys like him we should all be dead long ago. They make good money getting people to follow this negative mantra.

I'm actually not worried at all. I am however not ignoring the signs that the collapse is going to happen.

A state of constant anxiety and worry usually is called generalized anxiety disorder. Unlike the normal worries or concerns that can happen now and then, a persistent anxiety problem has people overwhelmed with worry and tension when there is no genuine reason for it, according to the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH). People with an anxiety disorder often think the worst is going to happen. They may worry irrationally about their finances, family, health or work.

Not overly worried for myself, I am well armed and well prepared with somewhere remote to go and wait it out if required. My concern is for the average joe in the cities that will go to bed one night believing life is good and wake up the next morning without a working credit card or bank card, unable to get cash from the banks at all, have the cash in their pockets worth less than the paper it's printed on, and no ability of the governmnet to help them or change anything.

Ouch!

Hence the need for Christ. :)
That voice in your head ain't JC.

When I first came to BC in 72, I was going to just walk out into the wilderness and get as far away from all these crazies as I could. Gonna survive out there on my own. But then it became quite apparent that it wouldn't take very long before I would go quite mad if the only company I had was the noise in my head. That is why people say talking to yourself is a sure sign of insanity. I met several hermits when I first went out in the bush and, believe me, they were all quite mad. Made me rethink my goal. We need each other. We need the input to grow and become more self aware.

If you are out in the woods alone with only JC to talk to, I guarantee that you will soon be hallucinating him and the trees and animals will start talking to you too. It won't be too long before you are ready for the rubber room. If you are worried about survival, start gathering your tribe around you.

With everyone starting at zero it is a great opportunity for those who feel the rich have better opportunities. Work hard and prosper.

Of course your worried. You're convinced the unrecoverable collapse is going to happen.

What do you think? the only way it was stopped in 2008 was by our govt injecting $75 billion into the economy basically overnight, followed by $138billion in 2009 and a nice round $500 billion in 2010. That is over $700 billion in less than 3 years that is not on any balance sheet or in the budgets, it was all borrowed or created artificially. Now how do they get the dough and how do they pay it back if it happens even worse by 2012? where do we come up with over a trillion bucks.

And this is peanuts comared to the US. The estimates are over a quadrillion dollars worth of collapse for them when they almost shut down govt and stopped paying personel, including their military, and social security and food stamps just last friday because they couldn't fund any of it and they couldn't float a loan for it.

Please tell me what weapons you have, or post a pic even.

What else do you have prepared? A bunker?

I have an old .22 and a 1942 lee-enfield .303 that the feds know about. Anything else I may have is my business and not for publication.

Over the past 50 years I have watch people become more isolated from each other and nature. I have been hoping for a crash because then people will be shocked out of their stupor and start to realize that we are not islands. We need strong communities and to relearn how to cooperate instead of competing. There is plenty to go around if we learn to share like they used to do when they lived in isolated communities, before roads and cars, cell phones and other technology that keeps us from face to face communication.

My roommate is my best friend and he's actually counting on me when something does happen. That's at least one person for sure. The rest of my tribe will be those who notice how well I'm surviving, and after they've gained my trust, I'll work with them.

No bunker as such but I have a cabin that is about a 2 1/2 hour drive on old closed logging roads and 4x4 trails near the north end of the Island.

The system is on the verge of collapse. Get yourself prepared because this will be brutal.
1930's.... Ever watch Zeitgeist the first one. After you get through the hallucinogenic beginning It had some interesting points. The second was just brutal. The banks started it in the 30's similar scenarios. More information and fear mongering keeps the sheep in their pens so they listen more to what they are told. Going green is making someone rich and putting the fear in others. Ban the incandescent light bulb. But the opening of the mines that were closed due to mercury poisoning and cancer rates in the employees
who nake these bulbs. Who cares the West wants the spiral light bulbs! Geesh get me going on that one. Cycles of the Earth and Natural occurances keep the doomsday people happy. Misery loves Company. What you say is true look out for number one yourselves your families. Start gardening. Save seeds. Be prepared for emergencies Earthquake ...don't get so paranoid that is all you think of. There was a little lady in the lineup at the til. She looked like she was in her 80's. Buying a sleeping Bag. They were flying off the shelves after the Earthquake Japan. 80 years old. She was not planning a camping trip. Whats my point I don't know help me out here.

Ever read the bible?
Zeitgeist puts the Jesus myth into perspective. Not the quintessential perspective on it but a good beginning.

I have read the bible several times and found it lacked credibility. Subsequent studies of its history convinced me that, although a useful guidebook, if taken literally, it has the potential of being a very dangerous book in the hands of small minds - much like how the Quran is being misused by small minds.

The problems in this world are all man made and the solutions must come from the same source. Nobody is gonna save our asses. As the Hopi say, "We are the people we have been waiting for."

Ever read the bible?
Yes. A few. I have the one my grandmother gave me still and keep it in my dresser drawer. There are a few wrinkles and a little puppy picture someone drew in the back of it. The one she had kept for years had notes from her husband at war when she was missing him. Learned some of the Joseph Smith. Really enjoyed reading that and then the people who were interested to talk of their belief was the best. Loved the Church there the singing was amazing. Family Dynamics and importance there of. Visited different religions learning mostly of the different cultures accepting all. My best friend tried teaching me to speak punjabi religion speaking learning. They are all good books. Interesting what you learn with an open mind :)
