Regardless, Israel is seen as a murderer by the majority of the world. The SS of the 21st century. Of course by those who support Zionism, the act was heroic. We will see if anything was accomplished other than making the lives of a 1.4 million people even more miserable than the Israelis had already made it.
.

Of course it won't be, people decided it was better to have a ceasefire than finish it once and for all, now fighting will have to happen again in 6 months. Good for busy bodies.

You have to wonder about some of these extremists.

I don’t understand why he wants to kill the juice, apple juice; orange juice is good for the body. The man is confused and full of hate; he not only wants to kill all the Jews now he is gone into his fridge and is killing all his juice. Crazy and ignorant and a bad speller, although I am a bad speller mi self, but for sure I do not want to see all the Arabs killed, that is the deference of being sane and insane.

It is like the ebbs and tides.

This is in the Quran 3: 140
The explanation:
(If a wound has afflicted you [at Uhud], be sure a similar wound has afflicted the others [: the associaters.]

Such days [of varying fortunes] We give to men and men by turns:

that God may know those that have believed,

and that He may take to Himself out of yourselves [some] martyr-witnesses [to Truth;]

God loves not those that wrong [people.] )

That's odd, I thought god is supposedly omniscient, he already knows who believes and who doesn't, he doesn't need to test anybody to find out. Has it never struck you how logically inconsistent your beliefs are?

Although I did answer before about your suspicion that you cast in the minds to make some illusion:

God – be glorified – is All-Knowing; but such trial is only to prove practically that this person does indeed believe;

by trying him in various ways of fear and security, danger and safety, disease and health, poverty and riches, etc. until his true belief (or his wavering and doubting) will be verified practically,

so that he will have his deserved rank and grade, and before all creatures he will be manifested to deserve his position either to the side of the belief or to the side of the blasphemy and associating [patrons] with God.

Moreover, how can he be judged for anything he had not done before whether good or bad?

Therefore, he has to do his deed in order to be recompensed for it; although God knows before hand what he is.

All people with some humanity reaction and living conscience denounce the offensive of Israel against the Palestinians.

All people including the orthodox Jews have been against the criminal act of the Zionism and their killing more than 1000 and wounding more than 5000 Palestinians at Gaza.

He knows because he made him and your god is therefore a savage brute that delights in the pain of his creatures.

That is, if your god existed, which he doesn't. ;-)

But god, being all-knowing, must already know whether a person believes or not, it doesn't need to be proven practically or any other way. Your argument makes no logical sense. Why does god need to prove something he already knows?

God – be exalted – created His creation to be Merciful to them; but most people chose to be ungrateful to His bounties; in fact the atheist and the blasphemer chose his punishment by himself.

In addition, the atheist and the disbeliever will know his Lord and admit it, although now he denies, but he will admit it willingly or loath.

However, some atheists and disbelievers and associaters have an illusion: he says: "Why shouldn't God punish me according to my blasphemy?"

As in the Quran 58: 8

The explanation:
(And they say [to themselves]: "[If Mohammed was truthful] why would not God punish us for our words [at once]?"
Enough for them is Hell: In it will they suffer, and evil is that destination [of Hell!] )

While this is only some way of God's design against this atheist, and He takes him gradually into His trap: to let him increase in guilt and sins and disbelief: because he hated God and so God hated him; therefore this is to their disadvantage not to their advantage; that they are not punished immediately.

This is according to the aya 7: 182-183

The explanation:
(Those who cry lies to Our signs, We will gradually cause their destruction, from whence they are not aware.

But relate to them [O Mohammed] that mighty is My plight.)

It is to prove to this man himself and to others that he is a believer or not, a guilty or not. Because the man himself if he is punished will say: "What have I done to deserve such a recompense and reward?"

This World and the afterlife, both of them belong to God Almighty; none can escape His judgment.
As in the Quran 53: 24-25
أَمْ لِلْإِنسَانِ مَا تَمَنَّى . فَلِلَّهِ الْآخِرَةُ وَالْأُولَى
The explanation:
(Or will man [who is unbeliever] have whatever [intercession of idols, angels or saints] for which he desire?

But to God belongs the Hereafter [life], and the First [life of the World.] )
--------------------------------------------

While as regards to the Children of Israel who in the past were the chosen people of God, and they are not any more His chosen people; He punished them many times by setting on them their enemies to humiliate and punish them according to their rebellion, as do you punish your servant when he betrays you.

Muslims are now in the same situation of the Children of Israel in the past; He punished them by setting their enemy on them, and this will only be temporarily.

This omniscient god has to test people to find out if they really believe. So much for a god that knows the hearts and minds of men.
Dr. Seuss's faerie tales were more sensible. But I guess that's what faith's mandate is .... to destroy reason and keep the people blind.

At any rate, newsmedia is so biased, twisted, inaccurate, misinforming and misinformed, it's little more than a joke

I have just explained that God – be glorified – checks them to expose their true essence before themselves and before people so that they will admit their crimes on Judgment Day, and will not deny their deserved recompense.

As in the Quran 67: 8-11

The explanation:
(As it [: Hell] would tear up [from simmering] with rage. Whenever a group [of unbelievers] is cast into it, its keepers will ask them:
"Has not ever any warner come to [warn] you [of this punishment]?"

They will say: "Yes, indeed, a warner did come to us, but we denied [him] and said: 'God did never reveal anything; surely you [messengers] are in great error!' "

They [will] also say: "If we had only listened [to the words of the messengers or apostles] or had understood [that to which they invited us] we would not have been among the inhabitants of the Blaze."

They [will] then confess their sins [but their confession will not avail them at that time], and far [from God's mercy will] be the inhabitants of the Blaze.)

NB: the verbs used in these ayat are in the past tense, indicating that this discourse had happened in the past Doomsdays and Judgment Days.
And God is Truthful;
He tells us about this discourse that happened between the angels responsible about Hell and the disbelievers being in Hell;

and with the eloquence of the Quran He tells us that the same discourse will take place in the future Doomsday and Judgment Day.

Imagine how they could spin this story if they were twisting in favor of the innocent people inside the walled compound who have no where to run or hide.

BTW, Israel has shelled another UN school killing more innocent civilians.

From Times Online
January 17, 2009

Strikes on Gaza continue ahead of imminent ceasefire
Kevin Dowling

Israel bombarded Gaza with 50 airstrikes overnight ahead of a proposed unilateral ceasefire, which could be approved by the Jewish state tonight.

Two children were killed in northern Gaza when the UN school they were sheltering in with 1,600 other people was struck by Israeli shelling.

UN spokesman Chris Gunness called for the soldiers involved to be tried for war crimes and said the Israelis had been provided with the coordinates of the school and knew it was being used as a shelter.

The Israeli military was investigating the incident and had no immediate comment. But in similar cases, it has accused Hamas militants of staging attacks from schools, mosques and other civilian areas...

Strikes on Gaza continue ahead of imminent ceasefire - Times Online

So now its reached the point where Israel can commit war crimes and the news automatically justifies them on Israel's behalf.

Everyone with an opinion on this war should keep in mind that the current round of fighting started after Israel violated its truce with Hamas on November 4, 2008

YouTube - Israel comfirm that Hamas doesn't broke the truce

Canada's defense of Israel's war crimes is shameful.

Canada's lone Gaza vote
Jan 14, 2009 04:30 AM

It is no shame that Canada stood alone at the United Nations Human Rights Council this week, as the only one of 47 nations to oppose a resolution condemning Israel for grave rights violations in Gaza.
There is no denying the appalling carnage there, where the Israeli military is reported to have killed nearly 1,000 Palestinians, including hundreds of children, and injured 4,000.

But even so, the UN council, a perennial critic of Israel, endorsed a contemptibly lopsided resolution that censured Israel for "military aggression," "targeting civilians" and "grave violations" of human rights, while glossing over Hamas' own criminal responsibility for firing thousands of rockets at Israel and using civilians as human shields...

TheStar.com | Opinion | Canada's lone Gaza vote

Here's another perspective on Hamas's use of human shields:

Debunking the "Human Shield" Myth

Nearly seventy years ago, in the course of World War II, a heinous crime was committed in the city of Leningrad. For more than a thousand days, a gang of extremists called “the Red Army” held the millions of the town’s inhabitants hostage and provoked retaliation from the German Wehrmacht from inside the population centers. The Germans had no alternative but to bomb and shell the population and to impose a total blockade, which caused the death of hundreds of thousands.

Some time before that, a similar crime was committed in England. The Churchill gang hid among the population of London, misusing the millions of citizens as a human shield. The Germans were compelled to send their Luftwaffe and reluctantly reduce the city to ruins. They called it the Blitz.

This is the description that would now appear in the history books – if the Germans had won the war.

Absurd? No more than the daily descriptions in our media, which are being repeated ad nauseam: the Hamas terrorists use the inhabitants of Gaza as “hostages” and exploit the women and children as “human shields”, they leave us no alternative but to carry out massive bombardments, in which, to our deep sorrow, thousands of women, children and unarmed men are killed and injured....

An example of this [propaganda] process surrounds the most shocking atrocity of this war so far: the shelling of the UN Fakhura school in Jabaliya refugee camp.

Immediately after the incident became known throughout the world, the army “revealed” that Hamas fighters had been firing mortars from near the school entrance. As proof they released an aerial photo which indeed showed the school and the mortar. But within a short time the official army liar had to admit that the photo was more than a year old. In brief: a falsification.

Later the official liar claimed that “our soldiers were shot at from inside the school”. Barely a day passed before the army had to admit to UN personnel that that was a lie, too. Nobody had shot from inside the school, no Hamas fighters were inside the school, which was full of terrified refugees.

But the admission made hardly any difference anymore. By that time, the Israeli public was completely convinced that “they shot from inside the school”, and TV announcers stated this as a simple fact.

So it went with the other atrocities. Every baby metamorphosed, in the act of dying, into a Hamas terrorist. Every bombed mosque instantly became a Hamas base, every apartment building an arms cache, every school a terror command post, every civilian government building a “symbol of Hamas rule”. Thus the Israeli army retained its purity as the “most moral army in the world”.

Now they say that the attack on the school was a "mistake." It wasn't the target at all, they say; some shells firing at an entirely different target went astray. This, after declaring for days on end, in great -- if mendacious -- detail, that they were absolutely justified in, er, targeting the school. By next week, the Israelis -- and their innumerable American cheerleaders -- will be claiming that the school never existed.

THE TRUTH is that the atrocities are a direct result of the war plan. This reflects the personality of Ehud Barak – a man whose way of thinking and actions are clear evidence of what is called “moral insanity”, a sociopathic disorder.

The real aim (apart from gaining seats in the coming elections) is to terminate the rule of Hamas in the Gaza Strip. In the imagination of the planners, Hamas is an invader which has gained control of a foreign country. The reality is, of course, entirely different...

A top priority for the [war] planners was the need to minimize casualties among the soldiers, knowing that the mood of a large part of the pro-war public would change if reports of such casualties came in. That is what happened in Lebanon Wars I and II.

This consideration played an especially important role because the entire war is a part of the election campaign. Ehud Barak, who gained in the polls in the first days of the war, knew that his ratings would collapse if pictures of dead soldiers filled the TV screens.

Therefore, a new doctrine was applied: to avoid losses among our soldiers by the total destruction of everything in their path. The planners were not only ready to kill 80 Palestinians to save one Israeli soldier, as has happened, but also 800. The avoidance of casualties on our side is the overriding commandment, which is causing record numbers of civilian casualties on the other side....

That means the conscious choice of an especially cruel kind of warfare – and that has been its Achilles heel.

A person without imagination, like Barak (his election slogan: “Not a Nice Guy, but a Leader”) cannot imagine how decent people around the world react to actions like the killing of whole extended families, the destruction of houses over the heads of their inhabitants, the rows of boys and girls in white shrouds ready for burial, the reports about people bleeding to death over days because ambulances are not allowed to reach them, the killing of doctors and medics on their way to save lives, the killing of UN drivers bringing in food. The pictures of the hospitals, with the dead, the dying and the injured lying together on the floor for lack of space, have shocked the world. No argument has any force next to an image of a wounded little girl lying on the floor, twisting with pain and crying out: “Mama! Mama!”

The planners thought that they could stop the world from seeing these images by forcibly preventing press coverage...But in a modern war, such a sterile manufactured view cannot completely exclude all others – the cameras are inside the strip, in the middle of the hell, and cannot be controlled. Aljazeera broadcasts the pictures around the clock and reaches every home....

People with moral insanity cannot really understand the motives of normal people and must guess their reactions. “How many divisions has the Pope?” Stalin sneered. “How many divisions have people of conscience?” Ehud Barak may well be asking.

As it turns out, they do have some. Not numerous. Not very quick to react. Not very strong and organized. But at a certain moment, when the atrocities overflow and masses of protesters come together, that can decide a war.

I am reviving this string because of this article I read in the news today:

Apparently Canadian politicians have become divorced from reality regarding Israel:

Canadians finding other ways to have their voices heard
Mar 19, 2009 04:30 AM
Haroon Siddiqui

Canada used to have a more balanced view than the United States of the Arab-Israeli conflict. Now both the Conservative government and the Liberal opposition are competing to see who can be more pro-Israel. That's their right. They will reap their reward or take their lumps in the next election.

But equally clearly, their narrative is divorced from the reality of the conflict: the reality of how most of the world, including human rights organizations, views what Israel did in Gaza, and the emerging reality of a policy shift in Europe and even the U.S.

The Tory-Liberal position is also out of tune with Canadians in general and a grassroots movement in particular, including an increasingly vocal minority of Jewish Canadians, against Israeli excesses.

The Gaza operation, besides all the unconscionable horrors it inflicted on the essentially defenceless Gazans, has proven costly for Israel. Israel not only stands accused of operating out of the bounds of international law and norms, it failed to achieve its main objective: destroying Hamas.

The leadership of Hamas is intact despite the bombing blitz. Gazans have not risen up against Hamas, nor is their spirit broken, despite the killing and maiming of their kith and kin, as well as the destruction of their homes and homeland. In fact, Hamas has emerged stronger – just as Hezbollah did after the Israeli invasion of Lebanon in 2006.

Mahmoud Abbas, Israel's current favourite interlocutor, and Egypt's Hosni Mubarak, Israel's staunchest Arab ally, are seen as accomplices in the Gaza tragedy. A poll last week showed Abbas trailing Hamas's Ismail Haniyeh for president....

(eao - Abbas's mandate expired in January. He is now officially an unelected dictator propped up by the US and Israel. Hamas remains the only democratically elected Palestinian government. Their mandate still has two years.)

...Despite the political and media establishment's consistent efforts at censoring or suppressing criticism of Israel and demonizing its critics, many Canadians are finding ways to have their voices heard. They are going beyond street marches to Barack Obama-like grassroots mobilizing through Web networking, seminars and teach-ins with prominent speakers....

...A combative declaration was issued last week by 160 Jewish Canadians, including Anton Kuerti, Ursula Franklin, Naomi Klein, Meyer Brownstone (recipient of the Pearson Peace Medal) and Judith Deutsch, president of the Canadian group, Science for Peace.

"We are appalled by recent attempts ... to silence protest against Israel. We are alarmed by the escalation of fear tactics (which) bring the anti-Communist terror of the 1950s vividly to mind."

But both Deutsch and Sears say they feel far less lonely these days than they used to.

"There has been a real shift over the last few years where being a marginalized troublemaker is less marginalized and more acceptable," Sears said.

That seems in tune with broad Canadian sentiment. The annual BBC World Service Poll, based on interviews with 13,500 people in 21 countries and released last month, showed that while Germany and Canada enjoyed the highest ratings, the three most negatively rated countries were Iran, Israel and Pakistan...

TheStar.com | Opinion | Canadians finding other ways to have their voices heard

The tide is turning against the Zionist state of Israel's oppression and injustice regarding the people who had the misfortune of living on the land they believe God gave to Jews. Ordinary people are starting to see the atrocities in plain sight.

Meanwhile: News that isn't reported in Canada:

Israel detains Abbas's political opponents without charges:
Al Jazeera:
Israel arrests Hamas members

Israel has detained at least 10 senior Hamas members in the occupied West Bank, according to officials from the Palestinian group.

Nasser al-Shaer, a former Palestinian deputy prime minister and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, was also held on Thursday.

The arrests took place in the West Bank cities of Hebron, Bethlehem and Nablus.
The Israeli army confirmed the arrests, saying the men were wanted by Israeli security and intelligence services and that they "were taken in for questioning".

Hamas says the detainees include four Hamas politicians, three of whom have already served time in Israeli custody...

Al Jazeera English - Middle East - Israel arrests Hamas members

BTW, these people aren't accused of taking part in any criminal or hostile activity. They are politicians and political organizers. They may have been seized as bargaining chips in hostage negotiations or to help prop up Abbas or both. Since they are political prisoners maybe I should have posted that story in the "Do Palestinians have rights?" string....

More news you won't see in the Canadian news:

IDF in Gaza: Killing civilians, vandalism, and lax rules of engagement
By Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondent

During Operation Cast Lead, Israeli forces killed Palestinian civilians under permissive rules of engagement and intentionally destroyed their property, say soldiers who fought in the offensive....

..."There was a house with a family inside .... We put them in a room. Later we left the house and another platoon entered it, and a few days after that there was an order to release the family. (eao: sure sounds like using human shields to me) They had set up positions upstairs. There was a sniper position on the roof," the soldier said.

"The platoon commander let the family go and told them to go to the right. One mother and her two children didn't understand and went to the left, but they forgot to tell the sharpshooter on the roof they had let them go and it was okay, and he should hold his fire and he ... he did what he was supposed to, like he was following his orders."

According to the squad leader: "The sharpshooter saw a woman and children approaching him, closer than the lines he was told no one should pass. He shot them straight away....

...the company commander ordered that an elderly Palestinian woman be shot and killed; she was walking on a road about 100 meters from a house the company had commandeered.

The squad leader said he argued with his commander over the permissive rules of engagement that allowed the clearing out of houses by shooting without warning the residents beforehand. After the orders were changed, the squad leader's soldiers complained that "we should kill everyone there [in the center of Gaza]. Everyone there is a terrorist."

(eao: this activity meets the definition of a war crime)

The squad leader said: "You do not get the impression from the officers that there is any logic to it, but they won't say anything. To write 'death to the Arabs' on the walls, to take family pictures and spit on them, just because you can.

- More soldiers' testimonies will be published in Haaretz over the coming days.

ANALYSIS / Can Israel dismiss its own troops' stories from Gaza?

By Amos Harel, Haaretz Correspondent

...The soldiers are not lying, for the simple reason that they have no reason to. If you read the transcript that will appear in Haaretz Friday, you will not find any judgment or boasting. This is what the soldiers, from their point of view, saw in Gaza. There is a continuity of testimony from different sectors that reflects a disturbing and depressing picture....

ANALYSIS / Can Israel dismiss its own troops' stories from Gaza? - Haaretz - Israel News

Also I found this ironic November 4, 2008 UN report:

4 November 2008
General Assembly
GA/SPD/415
Department of Public Information • News and Media Division • New York
Sixty-third General Assembly
Fourth Committee
21st Meeting (AM)

ISRAEL'S 'ENORMOUS WEB OF UNLAWFUL PRACTICES' DEVASTATING PALESTINIAN SOCIETY,

PALESTINE'S OBSERVER SAYS, AS FOURTH COMMITTEE DEBATES SITUATION IN TERRITORY

Chairman of Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Underlines Interlocking, Reinforcing Relationship between Human Rights, Potential for Peace

Through an "enormous web of unlawful practices" that entailed systematic human rights violations, Israel was causing severe devastation and damage to Palestinian society, the observer for Palestine said today....

...."Even under the aegis of a peace process, Israel continued to breach all human rights standards," the observer for Palestine said, referring to the numerous examples provided in the Special Committee's report of Palestinian civilians being killed, injured, imprisoned, displaced and collectively punished. (Note: this is during a truce?)

She stressed that Israel had, for decades, relentlessly pursued a two-dimensional policy, namely the brutalization and oppression of the Palestinian people, and the confiscation and colonization of the land. Every sector of life had been disrupted, and poverty, hunger, disease and unemployment continued to rise. Further, these illegal actions undermined the peace process....

...The Special Committee was particularly concerned, he said, about the long-term impact of Israeli policies and practices infringing on Palestinians' human rights. Israel's closure of Gaza had had a serious impact on economic and social rights, disabling the economy and posing a wider threat to the environment. Meanwhile, within the West Bank, three separate entities -- described by witnesses as "enclaves", "cantons" and " Bantustans" -- had been created. Family ties had been severed, as had the Palestinians' links to their land. It was feared that the situation would have a significant impact on the whole society and, particularly, on Palestinian children, who made up half of Gaza's population.

Against that backdrop, he reiterated the Special Committee's belief that protection of human rights was an essential element for ongoing peace efforts, and emphasized its request for the General Assembly to encourage the Quartet ( United Nations, Russian Federation, United States, European Union) to fully implement the Road Map and move towards a comprehensive, just and lasting settlement.

During the general debate, a number of speakers expressed cautious optimism that the fragile ceasefire in Gaza would bring real humanitarian relief and provide firmer ground for the ongoing peace process....

Ironically at the same time the UN members made their optimistic statements about the Gaza ceasefire (which apparently does not require Israel to ceasefiring or allow humanitarian aid to enter Gaza), this event was unfolding in Gaza:

BTW, Gazans still suffer chronic malutrition and disease as a result of Israel's nearly two year crippling blockade which prevents the free flow of international food and medical aid from entering Gaza. No wonder most of the world sees Israel on par with Pakistan and Iran.

FLORENCE — Tom Grossman was a healthy 17-year-old when he went into the first of six German concentration camps in 1944, but when he came out a year later he only weighed 35 pounds.

I have a cat that weighs 18 pounds--
35 pounds at age 17-18 is a lie but I guess it sounds good to elementary students.

The insanity never ends

Here is a recent article from Ha'aretz, the oldest newspaper in Israel. This shows the insanity continues. Hysteria, huge numbers, wild claims when a simple calculation provides the answer.

Holocaust victims' ashes to be buried at Sachsenhausen
By The Associated Press
POTSDAM - German officials plan next week to bury the ashes of thousands killed in the Nazis' Sachsenhausen concentration camp after they were discovered during building work at the site, the director of the camp memorial said Wednesday.
[We will find thousands is correct.]
Archaeologists last year found a layer of ashes up to 1.5 meters thick underneath a concrete building constructed near the camp's former crematorium by East Germany's communist authorities as a memorial, director Guenter Morsch said.
[What does thickness matter without knowing length and width?]
Morsch said it was impossible to establish the number or identity of the victims whose cremated remains were found, but estimated that "there are tens of thousands."
[But where does tens of thousands come from?]
Some 200,000 people, including political prisoners, captives from Poland, Soviet POWs as well as Jews, were interned at Sachsenhausen, north of Berlin, between 1936 and 1945, and tens of thousands died. "At the end of the Nazi regime, the SS tried to cover up the crimes committed at Sachsenhausen, and to do that they plowed the ashes of the dead into the ground over a wide area," burying them under a layer of earth, Morsch told reporters.
On March 29, memorial officials plan to bury the ashes in 150 urns at the Sachsenhausen site, each with a capacity of 30 kilograms, Morsch said.
[One assumes respect for the dead means this will be all the remains.]
The planned burial comes ahead of commemorations next month marking the camp's April 22, 1945 liberation by the Red Army.
Advancing Soviet forces found about 3,000 survivors, most of them old and sick. Thousands of other prisoners died during the death marches that preceded Sachsenhausen's liberation as the SS evacuated most of the camp.
Memorial officials expect many survivors to come to the April 17 anniversary commemoration, which German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer also will attend.
Over recent years, a new visitor center has been opened at the camp, and the site entrance has been moved so that visitors pass through the same gate used by the prisoners. The revamped memorial is to be officially inaugurated at the anniversary ceremony.

So lets find out just how many "people" are in these ashes without asking if they are even human ashes.
The data on weight and volume is found here.
weight = 2kg per person
15 per urn, 150 urns, 2250 remains
volume 205 cubic inches
205 x 2250 = 270 cubic feet = 9 cubic yards = 7.4 cubic meters
assuming only 1 meter deep = 2.7 meters square or 10 feet square OR roughly the size of three normal graves. Using the stated 1.5 meters we have the area of about one and a half normal graves but only to a depth of about five feet. So we can calculate these are the remains of less than 2500 people of which nothing else is known.
