This version is is called the "classic Watts Up With That denial." The trick here is to admit, in theory, that the planet is warming up (naturally as a result of teh Holocene). But then to deny every scrap of evidence that it is actually warming up. PLayed deftly it allows you to hold the positions that the warming is natural and there is no warming simultaneously.
Not unlike the classic denier argument "There is no global warming and it's not caused by human activity and we can't do anything about it."
